This week…

This week was busy!

We had to move things around in our house to prepare for the insulation people to come and put insulation in our house. This may sound simple, but think if you will, if you had to move EVERYTHING that was on any exterior wall to your house. If you have a tile backsplash this would include one shelf in your kitchen cabinets too! We also had to make room in our basement to allow them to go around insulate the top of the wall down there. That took up much of last weekend.

Then early in the week Max got his Chinese program. This is something I had wanted to start with him this fall but, of coarse, I have to see what it is like so I put in a video. The second song on the video was “if your happy and you know it!” Which is one of Max’s FAVORITE songs, only this time it is in Chinese. Max seems to enjoy the videos however I think I am learning more then anyone at this point. I almost got all my numbers down (1-10) though I am not sure I have the tones right. Chinese is a tonal language and that is a bit difficult for me as the only other language that I know other then English is American Sign Language… hardly a “tonal” language! Ha ha!

Friday we finally got the insulation put in the house. I have noticed a big differance but Tony hasn’t been able to sit still long enough to notice the differance. The house was a mess after it was done, they had to come in from the inside to do it, so we have dust everywhere. We have had to mop up and sweep, and at this point I think it will take a few weeks of cleaning as we see things before we really feel like our house is clean again…. but it is insulated! YAY!!!

While the house was being insulated, Max, Fenway and I were out back. It was 90 degrees on Friday so it wasn’t fun. However they were done by about 1:30 so that helped. I set up a tent in the back yard for us (assuming it would take longer then it did) and that was nice to see. We got the tent when we got married as a wedding present but life has got in the way of us using it. However now that I took it out, I really want to use it. So maybe next year we can do just that!

This week we are going to be preparing for our trip. We are going down to Florida to visit my mother for about a week. This should be a fun trip. Tony really hasn’t had a vacation since we got back from the west coast, a year ago. He has had days off but taking care of your cancer stricken wife and your child alone, to me, doesn’t count. So we are all looking forward to a nice relaxing time.

Sorry there are no photos. I had to download the photo card to the computer as it was filled up and I was slow in doing that. However it is done now, so I should be able to take some great photos this coming week which I can share. My computer had to be sent in for repairs a couple of weeks ago so I have been using the family computer and it is good, but not as easy as my little netbook. So I am really looking forward to having that back (should get it Wednesday) so that I can do creative things again.

Talk to you all soon!
Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

So happy to hear about your remission status. Those words must have been music to your ears! Are you beginning to feel “normal” again now that you have finished with chemo and readiation? I’m sure your very positive attitude helped you along the way. Also, having Max in your life is an icredibly wonderful distraction!

As usual, you continue to keep up a busy pace. Exciting that Max is going to be learning some Chinese especially since he has a Chinese aunt. I think I will look into getting that series for my grandaughter. She is five now and it would be fun for her to start learning the language of her birth country.

Hope your weather cools off soon! Summer has finally arrived in So.CA now that the kids are back in school.

    Have a wonderful day. Rowena
