Forgot 2 things that I should have talked about yesterday…

Over the weekend Max had Croup. This is really his first real cold. We put him in a steam bath several times on Saturday and gave him Motrin Saturday night which helped him sleep all night. By Sunday afternoon he was well on the mend. And now he is 100% better with no coughing or anything. However he didn’t have fun for a few days.

On Monday, Max and I took an early nap to prepare for the doctor visit I had later that day. I was expecting a medication delivery that day but they called me and said they would be here between 1 and 3 and I told them to just leave it if I wasn’t home… I didn’t need to sign for it. Anyway at 12 noon I hear something that sounds like Tony is home and trying to get in the door. I am still half asleep and don’t think much of it till there is loud pounding on the door. I go into the hall to see a man looking in my small window on the door. Alarmed, I go back to Max who is still sleeping and figure that it is my medication delivery and think that they will leave soon. After 5 minutes I assume this isn’t the case. I also hear them messing with my screen door out front and think I hear them going to my back door! Unable to see out the front from upstairs I have NO idea who this is. I stay upstairs and after a while Max wakes up. I call Tony several times and my mother to get their opinions on the situation. I don’t really feel in danger because we have a whole house alarm system that I turned on before my nap and this includes all our windows and doors. Finally after 1 hour I realize that they are not going to leave and I call the non-emergency police number. They send someone out within 5 minutes and quickly find out that these people had the right house number but the wrong street. The workers are trying to install carpet and apologizes for scaring me. I thank the police and get on with my day thinking I was silly to call the police. However several people have told me since that I did the right thing… you just can’t be too careful now a days.

Anyway that is my story! Chemo this time is going okay so far… I hope it continues. It is WAY hot out today. Max seems to be doing okay but I am looking forward to cooler weather… or perhaps the warmer weather when I can play in water.

You should have just called the police right away when he didn’t go. Tell them you are alone wth a baby, have cancer, and don’t recognize the person who won’t leave. That’s what the police are for–could have been any nut out there. I’m glad you are all right, but it must have been scary.
