CT scan day…

Well I am about to leave for my scan but I had to share what Max did today.

Max has been turning on a humidifier (cool mist) that we have in our bedroom. Last night I realized that likely we will not need it again this year so I decided to unplug it but left it there. This morning Max went over to turn it on. It obviously didn’t turn on. So then he went over to the water container and took it off. Then he looked at it and saw that it wasn’t plugged in and proceed to go to plug it in (this is where I put my foot down and stopped him).

On one hand I was upset that he wanted to play with the plug (YIKES). On the other hand I thought how advanced of a concept it was for him to want to plug it in because it wasn’t working. Amazing!

Update: I am back from my CT scan and I received a disk of my images. I looked at it (not that you could blame me) and I don’t have much hope that I am in remission. I can see my uterus is back where it should be (not like the last time I saw images, before my chemo, when it was pushed off to the side) however I see some “things” where Larry should be. Now it is possible that one of these things that I saw was my ovary. I tried several times to figure out where my ovaries are and I couldn’t tell. I know they are there though. However even if I assume that one of these things was my ovary there is still at least one more “thing” over there.

However all of this could just be that I don’t read CT scans. Ha ha! I don’t really know what I am looking at so who knows what is going on in my body. They told me I can go and pick up the report either tonight or tomorrow morning. So I will call today at 4 and if it is ready I will go tonight. If not I will get it tomorrow morning. IF I get it tomorrow (which honestly it sounded like would more then likely be the case) I will update the blog likely in the afternoon as we normally go out in the morning to get things done (grocery shopping and stuff). However if I get it tonight I will update the blog tonight.

Another thing to remember is that the second opinion place, wanted to wait till after I am done with chemo before they would talk to me about a second opinion regarding radiation. So it is still possible that I may get away with no radiation… we will have to see though.

Update: Well I got my report. Sadly just as I thought I have lymph nodes still. However the rest of my abdomen and pelvis was normal!

I have 3 lymph nodes and one went from 17 x 13 mm to 23 x 11 mm, another went from 24 x 18 mm to 27 x 13 mm and the last one went from 47 x 84 mm to 37 x 21 mm. They call this last one as a “pelvic sidewall” so I am not sure what that means.

The impression of the radiologist was “Favorable response to therapy with interval improvement of the pelvic adenopathy.”

I am not sure why the masses changed shape. I guess that is a question for my doctor. I guess this means we will have to have a “plan B”. Ugg!

Talk to you soon!

    Hi Jennifer,

I’m sorry to hear that you were right. I guess you do know how to read a CT scan afterall. Praying that “plan B” will turn our to be something positive for you. I think you use of “ugg” is pretty mild!

In the meantime, take great joy in your precious boy.
