Well I saw the oncologist and she told me that I have to call them with a temperture of 100.5. That was the big message I got.
I was also told that my white blood cell count is low. She said that I need to be careful of salads and fruit…. though I am not exactly sure why.
I was also told that when I have the chemo drug that causes the mouth sores and jaw pain that I should be consuming ice. This will make it so not as much of that drug rests there and then I am not likely to be in pain. So ice is for me then!
That was about it for that.
Max has had fun with my mother and step father this week. He has also said some intresting things… I know it is hard to believe but he has actually said “Do I really have to wear this?” When he was getting a shirt put on that he didn’t like because it was a little snug. He also said to me this morning that his other thumb (the one he normally doesn’t suck on) tastes like “doggy do do”. Max REALLY wants to jump, he tries but he isn’t very successfull. But he thinks the concept is funny.
Sorry I don’t have photo’s today. I hope to get them soon though!

Just wanted to comment on your post about the Salads & Fruit. I’m not sure if they’ve told you about Neutropenic diets or not, but that is what our oncology patients are on when their white counts are low.
Here’s a link for you about it!
