Living room today (was covered in same brown carpet as stairs… the rugs we have had since before we got married)

Lower level hall and entry way (entry way had laminate wood floor that we pulled up and hall had brown carpet that was on stairs).

Upper level hall (had brown carpet from stairs)

Between all the rooms (doorways) there is this funny stuff that seems to us to be drywall in the joints in the floor. Tony and I can’t figure it out but since all the doors are too short for the hardwood floors we are thinking of putting wooden thresholds here to cover it up. This doorway is between hall and Max’s room.

Kitchen in it’s current state. We have 2 kitchen carts and we are peeling the wallpaper as we get the urge to do so. Tony and I will also be purchasing a wallpaper steamer because we recently found out that they painted over wallpaper in the living room/dining room. So you can just imagine the fun we will have this winter! The kitchen isn’t quite done but it is as close as it is likely going to get till we start on organizing the basement… which will not be done before Max’s arrival.

This is me taken a few minutes ago. Current waist measurement is about 46 inches around and I am up about 50 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. However to me I am not worried about any of this. This neighborhood is great for walking and I can’t wait to get to that! Not to mention a healthy baby is worth whatever I have to do to get rid of some of this tonage. Ha ha!

Well sorry it took me so long to post a message. I wanted to do this yesterday but time got away from me not to mention that everytime I want to use the camera the batteries are dead. I hope when Max gets here I will keep at least a pair charged at all times!

I am feeling well and Max is kicking like there is no tomorrow!

As you can see above we have been busy on this house so far. We have one more room that needs the carpet removed from, then we will be done with the carpet! The carpet removal has been challenging at times. Clearly these floors really haven’t seen the light of day since they were installed. However they are mostly in good shape. Very few stains, no real water damage. They will need to be refinished one day but it isn’t a priorty right now since we have area rugs that for the most part cover any stains or “bad parts”. What the rugs don’t cover also there are bookcases! Ha ha!

Our next big project will probably be the wallpaper removal. My goal is to also paint the entire inside of the house (except part of Max’s room) this winter. The closets all need to be painted and while pink may be good for some… it isn’t me (both bathrooms are baby pink). We also need to remove the paneling (which we don’t think is glued down) in the office/guest room. I am thinking that the worst part of all of this though will be the massive quanities of white trim paint that we are going to need. Ha ha!

In the spring we hope to tackle more of the yard and get it looking presentable if nothing else. I would also like an area that I can set up a baby pool for Max and I to play in next summer. So that should be fun!

Other then that I was blessed to be surprised by a baby shower 2 weeks ago at the Lutheran Church I attend. It was quite a surprise! Most of the people there have known me since before I met Tony and so it was nice that they all thought so much of me to do that! I have no pictures of the event though.

Well I have one more doctor appointment (on Monday) then I will be delivering Max on Friday (assuming he doesn’t want to come early). It is VERY hard for me to believe that I will actually be able to take a child home this time. I wonder if I will get any sleep that first night home. It is also strange to think of all the things that Tony and I do now will include Max as of next weekend. Oh my! I will try to get Tony to post pictures to the blog if he comes home while I am in the hospital. If not I will try to post pictures of Max when I get home either Monday or Tuesday of the following week.

My grandfather is still ill. He is going into the hospital on Thursday (September 25) to have an out patient procedure done to figure out exactly what grandpa has. However the specialist that he saw, thinks that it is cancer. I am still optimistic that it isn’t. After all we have been through with Emily, I know that I shouldn’t assume the worst until I have no other options. So I am thinking positively. Any prayers you can swing his way for September 25th I am sure he would love to have!

I haven’t heard much about my step brother, other then he is doing better emotionally. So that has got to be good for him.

Well that is all I can think of for now! I hope all is well with everyone! I have posted an email for Maximillian that is on the right hand side of this blog. Please feel free to contact us there if you like!

Jennifer

PS Family in Washington, Oregon, and Wisconsin – I have just made the reservations for the trip that we are taking out there next summer. Please contact me (via Max’s email) to hear details of the trip. Thank you!

    Hi Jennifer,

So good to have you back blogging again!

You have had a very busy couple of weeks. The house is looking good. Thank goodness you were able to pull up the dog hair ridden carpeting and have nice hardwood floors underneath. Sounds like you still have lots of good plans in the future. Isn’t it fun to have a home of your own to do just what you want with it.

So glad your church had a baby shower for you and Max. I hope someone took some pictures for you.
How did they manage to surprise you?

It’s so wonderful to think that this time next week Max will be with you and Tony. I will pray that everything goes perfectly for you. I will also keep your grandfather and step brother in my prayers.

    Take care, Rowena

Wow, by this time next week, it will be a new family member with you!
The house looks great! You look great!

  3. Hoorah for full term! One of Hallie’s primaries said that the entire unit is rooting for you (I guess that you ran into her, or one of her colleagues fairly recently). We certainly are! You look marvelous and hopefully Sharon will take a page out of your pregnancy playbook (20 weeks today, and we’re pretty anxious right now, for all of the obvious reasons).

Can’t wait to check back and see how you are doing!

Today is the big day, unless he came early and you haven’t been able to post.
At any rate, praying that all went/goes well and that you are just enjoying every moment with your full term Max!

  5. ok……so I just realized today is Thursday, not Friday!
How funny is that. I am jumping the gun FOR you! =)
I am praying every day, so no matter what, you are covered.

Is it really less than 24 hours until Max is here?! God be with you in all rooms you are in tomorrow! 🙂
