So we got a lot of boxes. I mean a LOT of boxes. So many boxes that we decided that our old futon just had to go. We were looking for an excuse to get rid of it. We found one. So now we don’t have a couch… yeah hold on to that thought. Then the cabinets were installed on 2 different days. We were so happy to see this design come to fruition before our eyes!! Then we had the immense task of moving into our kitchen. Where are we going to put this, that and the other thing? Where are also going to put all these boxes? Why do I have so many ___________? I don’t even eat meat!! So we are sorting through things and figuring out what is important, and what isn’t. We also went through our massive spice cabinet and figured out what expired before Nathaniel was born, and tossed it. We still have many spices, but not nearly as many as we did!
One of the other things I quickly realized is how little I can reach without a stool. So we got a nice chair stool. I seriously use it daily. And we don’t even have countertops yet! We also got Rosie, a vacuum. I am not sure of her permanent home yet. Right now she is in our hallway. Probably will not keep her there but I have yet to figure out her home so that is where she is. She is really handy for keeping this new space clean. YAY!
Much to Tony’s relief, I am actually wanting to cook now too! It is like the old me has come back. So expect some happy family members now. However it isn’t all fun and games, here is our recycling pile today.
So I am sure there are some pretty happy garbage collectors coming this way soon!
Now on to the couch… or lack there of. Well I had planned to get a nice all purpose couch. I had it picked out it seemed to do everything AND Julianne fries… but no, it wasn’t meant to be. Just as my living room was turning back into an empty box and not the cluttered wasteland that was shown above, I found out that the couch I wanted wasn’t available. So now we are in the process of reevaluating everything. In the meanwhile, we are going to take an outdoor couch that we have, and make it an indoor couch. I wanted to bring it in anyway, so this is just a good spot to put it.
Adoption news: We have completed everything we need to do for our homestudy except for signing the homestudy. We are looking at lists of children and putting more children on the list as we see them and we can go over each one. Don’t forget this is a family thing, so if I see a kid on the lists, then I have to clear it by 3 other people to make it on the lists. Hopefully our homestudy will go out to the states soon.
Well the next update should be after our kitchen is done… or at least the countertops are in. So that is exciting for us.
