Last weekend we decided to go to the RV show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is said to be the largest in the country. However since Max had German class on Saturday morning, we were only going to spend 1 day in Hershey. That is fine. Hotels are EXPENSIVE though. So I looked at camping. I found a place that we could stay that was only $32 for the night. Yay! Then after some thinking I thought that we should just sleep in the van rather then pulling out our 16 foot by 10 foot tent and 2 cots, sleeping bags and the works. It sounded good to me.
Then we tried it. Max slept under where he and Nathaniel sit in the van. Tony, Nathaniel and I had the back of the van. Sadly we were about a foot too tall. So we slept crunched up. This caused me to have leg spasms. You know where your leg suddenly starts hurting and the only thing that will fix it is to stretch it out. 🙁 While I was trying to fix this, it started heating up FAST in the car. I knew it was going to be a cool night and we had the windows up and the car locked. My keys were up in front. Then I started seeing this flashing light in the front and had no idea where it was coming from. The mind does crazy things in this state. Finally after Tony let it be known that he was awake, I crawled to the front, stood up over Max unlocked the car (terrified that I was going to set off the alarm) and rolled down the windows about an inch. This made the whole experience tolerable and we were all able to sleep sort of.
These are the next morning.
We then went back to the RV show.
On the way to the RV show I could tell Tony really didn’t want to go. He knew I was looking forward to it for weeks, but he really didn’t want to go. In fact we got stuck in traffic near the RV show and Tony was shocked that there was traffic for such a thing. We got in there and we look at a pop-up A frame trailer similar to this: this floor plan, This type of trailer (see photos below floor plan). He LOVES it. We then look at a hybrid trailer like this: Rockwood Roo. He LOVES this. By the end of the RV show he loves trailers that have 2 bedrooms, outdoor kitchen, and 2 entrances (one for the main entrance, a second that goes directly to the bathroom for when the boys or dog are FILTHY). These are 36 feet long!
What an amazing transformation!
