Day 5 and yeast…

I will get to what we ate in the last 24 hours in a minute. First I want to talk about something I did on a lark today, that was well, life changing.

I was feeling awful today. I was up at 2 am and I didn’t really get a nap till 2pm. I was starting to wonder how much longer I could do this. I am in a support group and they all helped and I knew based on some reading I did, that Candida was likely high in me. So I know I need to do this. Candida I knew was a yeast, and Alexander died of a yeast infection. So on a lark I dug up his death certificate and right there in black and white it said it “Cause of death (#3): Candida Sepsis”.

I felt like I had got hit in the stomach. All this time I thought Alexander had died of a yeast infection caused by poor hand washing. That might have happened but it was because of the over consumption of sugar. My son died because of sugar. It has taken me 8 years to figure this out! His death, I didn’t really have time to grieve because of how Emily was. When she died it was sort of a mass grieving of all of the children. Now I feel like he died again!

I have decided that I am going to challenge all my readers in his memory. I want everyone to do an 11 day sugar detox in memory of Alexander starting on the day he was born (July 31) and ending on the day he died (August 11). I would be thrilled if people went the full 21 days, but this is a good start. I am giving everyone nearly 8 months to plan so this should be easy.

If you are curious about Candida and if you have it, you can do this questionnaire (By the way I scored 245): http://www.wholeapproach.com/candida/questionnaire.php

The books for the 21 Day Sugar Detox can be found at any bookstore or on Amazon. You can even get the Kindle version for just $9.99. I would recommend that you get the 21 Day Sugar Detox Guidebook, if you are only going to get one book. You may also be able to find them at your local library.

The detox has 3 levels, and modifications for breastfeeding/athletic people, Auto immune issues, and Pescetarians. We are doing level 3 (the hardest) with energy modifications.

I will remind you again as we get closer to the date but I hope everyone will take me up on this.

I can’t get the photos to load today. Dinner is ready. So I will try again tomorrow.
