Long overdue

Well I went and got myself strep throat last week. Not fun. I was barely on the computer and it was fun watching the children. However now I am better… or at least well on the road to better. I didn’t think I could get sick this late in the year but I guess because it was SOOO cold this winter, bugs are late blooming this year. Who knew! The good news is neither kid got it.

Max finished his t-ball season last Saturday and I think it is fair to say a good time was had by all. I created this video of his season.

He got a trophy at the end of his last game

I think everyone wants to come back next year and so that is good. I also think I may have 2 more people watching the major league games with me. FINALLY!! Too bad Boston isn’t doing great right now. But hey at least I don’t have to hide in the basement or something to watch the home run derby or the All Star game.

On Sunday we went out for breakfast. The first 2 choices were packed (who would have thought people like going out to eat on father’s day??), so we ended up at Panera Bread. I had no food for Nathaniel as I wasn’t able to go grocery shopping with me having a throat on fire. So I thought I would be up a creak for my little Pookie. Thankfully I wasn’t. I was able to get 2 sausage patties, and a fruit cup for him. Totally Paleo (which is what I am trying to keep him for now) and worked well. He didn’t even eat his fruit. He was ALL about the sausage!

Yesterday and the day before we were under heat advisories. I always think that is a strange term “heat advisory”. I have also noticed that what classifies as a “heat advisory” in one part of the country may or may not classify as one in another part of the country. What they should really say is “It is REALLY hot out there for this part of the country. Check on the elderly, don’t be stupid with animals or kids.” I would probably also add to that, “Don’t be stupid with the AC either,” as our electrical grid is fragile in this part of the country and a black out (which the 2 that have happened have lasted about a week each) scares the living daylights out of me! Thankfully I missed the last one by a week (Boston is on a different grid and I just moved up there), and I was on the west coast for the first one.

Anyway, I had Nathaniel in the bare minimum as he gets hot SOO easily.
