Here are some photos from over the weekend last weekend that were on Tony’s phone.
We had an eventful night tonight. My intention was to make the “mama fish” from a previous post along with french fries. Not very Paleo but I am using up stuff. Well I turned on the oven and before I knew it, the kitchen was filled with smoke! Not fun! So we raced to try to stop the centrally monitored smoke detector from going off while opening the windows in the now freezing outside! Soon it was a loosing battle and we had most of our downstairs in smoke!
We looked in the oven and nothing appeared to be on fire so we realized that the oven was VERY dirty. For a while I thought the best coarse of action would be to let it burn off, but then that didn’t seem very smart. I took the kids outside (into the van as it was COLD outside) and Tony dealt with windows and smoke as well.
Tony looked in the oven and could see what had happened but couldn’t get to the problem. So we turned off the oven, and proceeded to and get something else to eat. Clearly the oven is in decommission status right now! When we got back the oven was cool and we could see that a sweet potato had fallen in close to the oven burner. This was burning and smoking. However we still need to clean the oven.
Now we have a lovely (no not really) smell of burnt something or other in the main floor of the house. I did try to use some lysol that I had to “clean the air” but I am not sure it did much. I think I may just have to bundle up the kids tomorrow and air out the house. Stinks but what else can I do?
Well Nathaniel is trying anything to get me to go to bed so this will have to be all for now!
