Nathaniel telling me not to put him down away from me.
Sadly today we found out that even though Nathaniel is back at his birth weight (Yay!!), this pediatrician is still concerned about him so we have to take him back in on Thursday! Nathaniel is growing and honestly we are talking about ounces here. Not a huge measurement of weight. So if he poos or pees too much, then they would see him “slipping backwards” and not gaining. We saw this for ourselves today as I put him on our home scale and then he peed (nearly hitting daddy who was dressed for work, in the process). This made him go down by 1/2 an ounce. He has pooed twice since then. I am almost afraid to weigh him. This all seems like an excersize in seeing how much we can stuff him, before it all starts coming out again.
I am needing to talk to Tony, but we may just have had it with the pediatrician at this point. I feel like if he were to gain a pound right now she still wouldn’t be happy. I can’t imagine what a new mom feels like when she goes to her. I know I have a decent milk supply, but I bet a new mom would just go to formula because of all of this.

First off let me start by telling you congrats on your new baby. He looks like Max. You are a wonderful mother and I’m sure this is a hard time with the baby not gaining weight. At three weeks old he should not only be at his birth weight but surpassed it. Your doctor is right to be worried. By switching doctors you are only denying him a person who is concerned but you are not accepting that something needs to be done. Really think about this. Your doctor is only looking out for what is best for baby.
