He is measuring about 2 lbs 13 oz I think. Almost 3 lbs. I guess this is on par with Max and the doctor guesses that he will be born at 7 lbs 10 oz plus or minus a pound if he is born at 38 weeks. Max was born at 8 lbs 1 oz. Fluid level is still good with him. His head he takes after his daddy (thankfully) and not me. His head is normal sized and not huge like my father’s side of the family. So making a hat for him shouldn’t be an issue! His head is in my left hip and his legs as you can see are up and over his head still. Clearly this kid takes after someone that is not me as I can’t ever remember being able to touch my toes from a standing position (locked knee). His heartrate is in the 135 range.
Blood flow is good for him, however I have “pooling” on my right side (where I got most of my radiation). I guess this is common in pregnancy but it is causing my right foot to swell EVERYDAY. I can’t do much about it so I deal. He said that if I have any pain then I might have a blood clot and I should be seen by my OB right away. Left side I am doing good still though.
I asked about the whole issue of me delivering. I guess, 37-38 weeks is the standard of care. However he is fine with having me delivering at 38 weeks especially since I had one child born at 38 weeks that had lung issues. He said that this is a very minor risk that happens in about 1% of the births like this, but clearly (as long time readers will know) odds are rarely in my favor! He said that obviously with an earlier birth, the risk does go up. He did say that he saw my OB recently and talked about me and told her that he was fine with me delivering at 38 weeks.
I have a feeling that the whole issue of my delivery will be pushed off till I see my OB again on May 20. Uphill battles are nothing I am not used to. So I will deal.
I see my son again (and the peri) on June 7th and July 5th. Then I am done! Getting closer!
