Boston today…

I feel like I have to say something about the events in Boston today.

Most of you know that we don’t live even in Massachusetts. We used to live in Cambridge, which is across the Charles River from Boston. Tony and I got married up there. In 2004 when the Red Sox broke their World Series winless streak, we were living up there. I woke up to the sounds of the pandaemonium going on outside. We lived on the 6th floor of an apartment complex.

Tony and I both feel that if we were given a chance today, to move back to Boston, there would be no question that we would go. We may have only lived there for 1.5-2 years respectively, but in someways it feel like home to us. That isn’t to say that New Jersey isn’t home, it is just that we really loved the lifestyle up there and the sense of community we felt up there. Yeah I am still following the Red Sox. We named our dog Fenway. But that just speaks to how much we really loved that town.

So that is why, even though we haven’t lived up in Boston in over 8 years, we feel like our hometown was bombed today. Tony and I are both a bit in a daze. I sat with my mouth wide open for about an hour today. Yeah I normally do that after any of the events like this, but for me it feels like how I assume anyone reading this would feel if their town had this happen to them.

My prayers are with those people effected by this, the victims, the families of those who lost their life, and the community who I know will all take years to heal from this.
