Okay these photos may be silly, but they have a purpose. A few weeks ago we decided that we should have Nathaniel go into an infant “bucket” seat when he comes home from the hospital. That is all well and good and I went researching bucket seats. Well that was enough to make my head spin! There are SOO many choices and comparing them is something a kin to comparing apples, oranges, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes and a sofa bed! You just can’t compare them easily! Things I find important, either A) all the manufactures say that is important, or B) they don’t comment on what I want to know!
Finally after a while and thinking how I would use an infant seat, I though, maybe I should look at a “travel system”, or a stroller and carseat combination. The problem with this is I LOVE our existing stroller, even though it is broken right now. I can get it fixed, but clearly there are limitations on our existing stroller. So it would be nice to find something that would fill those gaps. The first gap being that it only works with one carseat (one I don’t think I like), and the second being that Max can’t go into the stroller right now. I know this last one sounds minor, but he still naps. So if we are out and about and he gets tired, we have to carry him or hear him whine. Neither are really good options. However we do believe that Max will be dropping his nap about the time that Nathaniel is born. So we still only need a singleton stroller. My assumption is though if Max has needed a nap this long, so will Nathaniel.
So in that light, I went today to Babies R Us to look at cheaper stroller systems. This first one is a Britax stroller. Britax is who makes Max’s carseat so I like them. However as you can see in this photo, Max can barely fit and worst of all, he would never be able to be strapped in at his current size. The plus is, that even with Max in the stroller, it was easy to maneuver.
This is the stroller (or one very close) to the one that I thought would work for us. Sadly it doesn’t though. Max can fit into it, but barely. The tray table is too low and Max’s legs are more or less trapped where you see them. He can lean back well, but the stroller doesn’t maneuver well with someone as heavy as Max in it.
mon
Can you not remove the tray table? he probably doesnt need it while napping… we haven’t been using the tray since she was about 2 3/4 before we ditched the stroller completely
