Well we had an interesting church experience today. There was no power at church so we all bundled up and went to church. The church has many windows so there was lots of light, but no heat. The candles were lit, but we had no service bulletins. It was certainly memorable.
On the way there we were listening to the radio and I heard something I have NEVER heard on the radio. Those of you that are older then me, might remember this from the days of gas rationing in the late 70’s. We heard reports of where there was gas in certain towns. This was told just like school closings or the weather on the radio. Right between songs and such. So they would say “the Mobil station on X road in X town” had gas. Then they would go down the list.
At church the parishioners were about half and half with and without power. One person didn’t loose power period, another has been out as long as the church (Monday morning).
What is striking me about this storm is how many trees were uprooted. You would assume that the lines were knocked out by just limbs breaking and such. However what I am seeing is more trees uprooted then limbs or broken trees. The winds just knocked over these trees. These are big trees too. Not newly planted or anything. You go by a grove of trees and you see a few broken branches, but a lot of trees that just fell down uprooted. It is very odd!
Well tomorrow I will be going to my doctor. Hopefully my lining will be nice and strong again. Don’t know if Tony has power at his work or not. So we will have to see how that plays out tomorrow.
