Today we went out to the grocery store and to get milk (farmer). We didn’t drive by many gas stations as there are normally not any on our way here or there, but we did see one that had a sizable line at it. This one was on a major road and was an easy shot from one of the counties that has the restrictions on gas. We are not in a county that has gas rationing but we are not far from those counties.
I think the gas restrictions are easing in our area (meaning our county). I am not positive but I think so. Tomorrow when we go to church we should learn more.
The grocery store we went to has solar panels and was an absolute zoo. I seriously think I saw a few monkeys and a rino pass me by while there. Ha ha! As we were leaving, I realized that the rest of the strip mall was without power. So it is only the solar panels that made it so that place had power. Really makes you think!
Not much else is going on here. We are still a bit afraid to drive so we are not doing anything big. Lounging around the house seems to be the extent of this day.
The storm coming this week they say will bring rain, then snow to this area. If you are a praying person, please pray that this doesn’t turn into an ice event for those who have already suffered through Sandy. This area has all above ground power lines (something I was not used to growing up in Washington) and we have been told that they will not bury them because then they would be harder to work on… yeah when you figure that one out please let me know! Anyway, so the potential damage from an ice event could be more then any of us could handle. We are as prepared as we can be but still.
