Hunkering down… sort of…

As you can see I gave the blog a new look. This was partially because I have been waiting ALL DAY for my meds shipment today. They will not leave it without a signature. So I have been like a puppy left behind all day today looking at the window for the Wells Fargo Wagon (AKA UPS truck).
This is Max from today playing with his sidewalk chalk.
This was taken a few days ago but I thought it was funny!
You may have heard that there is a minor storm in the Atlantic that could hit our fine state of New Jersey. They are calling it a “perfect storm” or “the storm of the century” or all sorts of scary terms like that. I think most of these terms are meant to sell papers, increase web traffic or so on. Tony and I are mostly ready for any sort of storm. We like to be prepared all the time so we don’t have to go out with all the craziness that happens when things like this happen. However sadly because I am still waiting for my med delivery, I have yet to go out so we will be going out tonight. Tony will be with me so I will be taking photos because often times the build up to storms could be just as exciting as the actual storm!
I am unsure when this storm is expected to hit. I have been following it for the last 24 hours and it seems that it will be sometime Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday. Yeah weather is funny like that. Whenever it hits I will start posting more frequently here so you know what is going on with me and us. When the storm looks like the worst is behind us, I will slow down and let you know that. I only have one appointment next week on Monday morning. The rest of the week is clear for me except for the pick up at the farm on Thursday.
Note to family: They say, that we will have widespread power outages with this storm. We have never had a power outage longer then an hour or 2 here. I talked to my neighbor who has lived here about 10 years longer then me and she said the same (obviously this doesn’t include the 2003 blackout). So I have high hopes that this will be the case in the future. I think the main reason is because we are near a substation. Anyway, if our power does go out we will still have the land line that you can contact us on if need be.
Well that is about all I know right now. I am as prepared for this storm as I can be without going out (thanks UPS!!).
