Today’s homeschooling adventures…

I figured since tomorrow I HAVE to update the blog, I might as well update it today too.

Today Max did well with school. The math lesson was easy for him (larger/smaller). The reading comprehension story we read in his Pre-K lessons and it was one of his favorites – Three Billy Goats Gruff. He was able to answer some of the questions but he had trouble answering all of them. I think that this is just one of those things that we need to practice and he will improve with in time.

He did get 100% on both his math questions and his language questions that they asked in his assignments. So I guess something is sticking!

Tomorrow we do not have school because I have to go to the doctor for my final go/no go check before the transfer on Monday. That is in the morning and I think it would just be too much to do it all at once. So I am putting it off a day. Next week he will only have 1 day of school because I need to rest after the transfer.

We were able to get Max the “Mr Pencil” program for his Leappad yesterday. He loved it so much that he went through the batteries in one day (well most of yesterday and just now I am changing the batteries). He is learning a lot though so I am hesitant to limit it. It is really helping with his fine motor control as he has to draw on a specific set of lines (not veering off) and in an certain way (to make letters or shapes or so on). I did actually see a bit (albeit small) improvement from yesterday to today. I think I will get out the rechargable batteries and see if those would be better for him. He is going through these VERY fast!

Well that is all for now!
