Today was Max’s first day of school. He did better then I thought he would do.
I don’t have a lot of photos because even though Tony was around, I was doing much of the teaching. However I do have these photos of him cutting rectangles out and cutting around corners.
As part of this schooling everyday he has to answer questions about math and language. The math was sorting and he did very well with that, so he answered the 2 questions today with no problem. The language today was on a few things but one of which was reading comprehension. Now I know I have issues with this. I struggle with this a lot and I know I have issues with it. My hope is Max will not have my same problems. He had difficulty in the lesson but when we got to the test (about 1.5 hours later) he answered his question correctly!! He also recognized the letter A and a. Writing is a weakness for him but we are hoping to get a program for his leappad to help with that.
This weekend we have been busy with canning and preserving pears and apples (made 8 pints of apple sauce this weekend) and plums. The plums are old friends of mine as I remember picking plums off of my aunt Nancy’s plum tree. I think it is still in her back yard so I imagine her grandchildren are now creating the same memories that I had as a child. It is nice that even though I am so far away, I can create those memories in my son’s childhood. Though I remember climbing trees and you can’t do that at a U-pick farm!
Tonight we are having ribs! Tomorrow we have another day of school and Wednesday we are going to the doctor for my final go/no go for my transfer on Monday! Thursday and Friday are school days and Saturday my mother and step father come up for a visit! Busy week!
