A little story

When we first got married we got a Roomba. One of those automatic vacuums. At the time we had hard wood floors and it worked great. When we moved to NJ we had carpet in our rentals and it became necessary to get a powerful vacuum. Roomba got put in a closet and more or less forgotten.

Now we have hardwoods again and I am not allowed to vacuum. I made Max vacuum once (he loved it!) but sadly even with Fenway’s new short doo we still have furballs abounding our home. Then it dawned on me that we had our Roomba.

I thought it would be cool not to tell Max what it was and just charge it in the living room then let it loose.

Max wouldn’t have that though. He was/is curious of the “machine” and was quick to go explore it. He looked at it and in the period of just this afternoon (minus about 2 hours for nap) he drew a schematic of how he thought it worked and was able to tell us when asked that he thought it picks up fur balls! He said it spins on the floor then turning it over he pointed to the roller brush and said that is how it would pick up the fur balls.

Keep in mind Roomba doesn’t run commercials anymore to my knowledge. We also didn’t tell him what it was as we wanted to surprise him.

Clearly we may have a little engineer on our hands. I will post the drawing tomorrow.

Forgot to add. Roomba has yet to be turned on yet. He still doesn’t know if his hypothesis is correct yet.
