Well this week I didn’t get a photo of our CSA. It was EXTREMELY hot yesterday and I had to get the blueberries processed so I didn’t get to it.
What we got though was:
3 heads of lettuce
2 zucchini
3/4 lb chard
2 bunches of beets
1 bunch of basil
1 bunch of collards
3 quarts of green beans
1 pint snow peas (which seem to have nothing to do with snow… trying to figure that one out)
The lettuce we washed and chopped and had some last night. The zucchini will turn into bread and either be frozen or eaten. The beets will be canned tomorrow along with the beans. The snow peas have already been frozen.
Yesterday I made 5 eight oz, and 1 four oz jar of blueberry strawberry preserves (sweetened with honey), and 5 eight oz and 1 four oz jar of blueberry preserves (sweetened with honey). The rest of the blueberries have been frozen.
Honestly with the 11 lbs of blueberries I actually wish I had more. I would have loved to make some blueberry cobbler to freeze or something like that. Peaches will be the next fruit for us. Tony and Max know they get to go out and pick for that as it may not be ready until right after my transfer. We will have to see.
