Camping trip!!

Someone commented and asked why I talk about myself in the third person. The simple answer is with the triplet blog (which I have merged into this blog) Tony would also post updates. I have been trying to get him to post to this blog but he hasn’t wanted to. Maybe when I have the next child he will have to if I am in the hospital, then again we both have smart phones now and most hospitals have WiFi so I don’t think it will be an issue. Then again, he takes different photos then I do and to put them from his phone onto the blog (with me logged in) is hard, as evident by most of the photos today are from his phone and not mine. However for simplicity sake I do occasionally put myself in the third person for that reason.

Okay now on to the camping trip. These photos are not in order. All the vertical ones are from Tony’s phone and all of the others are from my phone.

Max having fun with his first roasted marshmallow. Yes I could have made these with real food but I decided my time was worth more then an occasional marshmallow.

Max finally got to see Yogi bear! As Max said, “Dreams do come true! I got to meet Yogi bear!”

Max at Yogi’s birthday party!

Tony and Max playing on a truck (pretending it is the british Top Gear race track).

Max was a great helper! He loved finding sticks for Tony to put on the fire!
A view of Tony with the little tent. We got this as a wedding gift and this is the first time we have used it. I forgot it had a skylight!
The first night it rained. We even had a tornado watch over us! So we stayed in the tiny tent and played Candyland. Then it got too dark and we couldn’t even do that! This is with the flash as it was too dark for a normal photo.
Tony building a fire…
Max exhausted from a fun day at Jellystone!
We had a lot of fun. Fenway HATED the trip. He thought he was being punished we think. However the rest of us had fun. Tony did most of the activities with Max. I stayed behind as Fenway isn’t allowed near the activities. Also we were cooking with just the metal grate (see the second to the last photo, it is just beyond the fire pit) so I was also tending the fire. They made us purchase wood there, but it was all wet wood! So getting a fire to start and keep it that way was a priority. We did let it go out on Saturday afternoon and I was able to go for a walk then. I was happy. It was very relaxing for me!
We realize that we do actually enjoy camping still (Tony and I both loved camping as children). Part of that may have to do with we brought Max’s mattress with us so we all slept with our heads and body’s on that with our legs hanging off. The tent kept us dry in the storm also. So that was good. Though we did find out that we had a leak on the side where Fenway was, so he wasn’t completely dry all night. No wonder he hated camping!
We also know that we are going to need a bigger tent for when the next child comes. There is no way all 5 of us can fit in our tiny tent.
Well that is all for now. I see the nutritionist this afternoon. I hope she doesn’t get too mad at me.
Forgot to add! My sister got Gold with her competition last weekend too! So she is really doing well! We are all so proud!
