A little of this, a little of that…

I made a cinnamon raisin bread that I really like and I think is different enough from the original recipe that I can share it.

1 cup poofed sourdough
1 1/2 cup warm water
1 Tablespoon honey
Combine well. Then add whole wheat flour until it looks about half as much as you think you need. I have found that bread making is all about weather so this could be different amount every time. I put in at least 2 cups. Then add:
1/4 cup gluten
1/4 cup (4 Tablespoons) cinnamon
2 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons unrefined sugar (this could also be honey but I haven’t tried that yet, it could also use more if you want it sweet).
If you are going to let your mixer do the kneading, then you can leave out the raisins for a bit. If not you can add them now. I added about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup.
Once that is mixed, add more flour until your mixture pulls away from the bowl a bit. Remember, it is hard to take flour out if you add too much, but you can always add more! I then let it kneed in the machine for about 4-6 minutes. I know when it is done when I press on it and it bounces back a bit.
Next I put it in a coconut oiled loaf pan and I put it in my toaster oven on a convection bake around 100 degrees. I want to be able to put my hand in there and not get burned, and not feel overly hot. Once risen, I turn the oven on 375 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. When you use the toaster oven, your oven will turn off and you don’t have to even take it out till the next morning if you don’t want to! Yum!!

Tony and I watched Farmagedden last night. Tony is mad! He knew that watching it would upset him but he didn’t realize how much. If you get a chance to see it (it just was released on DVD on Earth day) then you should. It is really sad what is happening to our farmers.

Well it is the end of the day and I haven’t heard from my RE. I called them this afternoon and they said that he left, and left no instructions for me. My guess is he wanted my Perinatologist to review the tests from yesterday then he would get back to me with the results. That is going to take time and I hope to hear something on Monday. In the meanwhile it isn’t like I could do anything any differently then I am already. So at this point I am assuming that no news is good news.

Finally today I mopped our new floor for the first time. It was just a light mop and since I had the mop out I figured I would hit the areas of the house that were not refinished, bathroom and kitchen. We got a Bona microfiber mop and BOY that thing works GREAT for everything! It even made our ugly kitchen floor look a bit better! That is impressive. So I had to share!

I hope everyone has a good weekend!
