Okay. I now have a moment to talk about what has been going on lately.
Tony really likes his new job. He says it is really different as there is no yelling or name calling. All of the jobs that he has had till now have involved this at least once a day. He says that it is also odd as someone isn’t standing over him micromanaging him. He is able to go in, do his work, take lunch, then go back to work and he finds himself forgetting where the time went sometimes and reminding himself to go home! I guess he just loves the working environment.
My mom and step father had a nice visit. When we went into New York City on Monday I had an intresting thing happen. The town was chock full of tourists. I went and stood in line for a subway pass so we could all ride the subway. The lady in front of me started to ask me something about subway. I answered her the best I could but didn’t know much as I really haven’t been on the subway in NY for about 10 years. Then the guy behind me started asking me questions. He spoke better english then the person in front of me so I told him that I didn’t know that much but that I used to take it all the time. I didn’t even know how much it cost for the subway anymore. I guess I look like a New Yorker without really even trying! Ha ha!
For those who don’t know, before I started dating Tony, I was going into New York almost every weekend to go dancing. It was one of my favorite things to do. I figured out rather quickly that if I looked like someone other then a tourist it was best so I guess it is fitting that when I go into the city now, I don’t look like a tourist!
Monday, Mom, Max and I went to a mall that I had heard about but never went to near here. It was a huge mall and one that I should take Tony to one day. We had fun walking around seeing what was there. On the way back we went to an outlet mall and it started to rain when there. When we got back to the van, I was unloading packages from under our stroller. We had used the stroller because the day before we needed it in NY for Max to take a nap and needed him to use it again for the same purposes. There among the packages was the cross bar that attaches the 2 sides of the stroller together. It was just sitting there completely broken from the stroller frame.
I was very thankful that Max didn’t get hurt from this breaking. I mean it could have been much worse. I was actually using a stroller once when I was a nanny that collapsed on a child and that was terrifying! This was nothing like that. However this stroller we purchased for Emily. It was going to be her stroller and was a good chuck of change. We used it a lot going to and from the oncologist with my chemo appointments and such. We also used it a lot on our trip out west, and Max slept in the bassinet for about the first 3 months of his life.
I have called the company and they said because they don’t make it any more for this market (it is a European like stroller) there is nothing they can do to help me. I told her that on Europe side of her company that they still sell similar strollers and could they help me? She said they may be able to do but I would have to call them directly as she couldn’t help with that.
Tony has assured me that the next child will have a great stroller and that I shouldn’t worry about this but it is upsetting to me. I really wanted a stroller like this and I finally got it. It is just upsetting that it wouldn’t last more then one child.
Oh and I should point out that Max is under the weight limit for the stroller and the cross bar was metal and not plastic. So we think that it had been breaking for a while as I don’t think 2 days could cause that.
Yesterday as you saw, I got new shoes. I actually wanted to just share with my mom the new shoes as she left yesterday, but it ended up being my photo of the day. So now you all see it.
We have 3 more days of Project 365 then we will be going into another year and new things. This is my plan for the new year.
Sundays – Family photos – this can be a group shot of us as a family, or it could be of us doing something as a family or some other group shot.
Monday – Maximillian photos
Tuesday – Other photos – This is just a day that I can post anything that was funny or in nature, or improvements to the house or maybe after I hopefully get pregnant this year, I will post my growth on this day.
Wednesday – Cooking – This day we will feature something that we cooked the prior week or some way that we are doing things eating the way we currently do.
Thursday – Fenway photos
Friday – Schooling – This will be Max at school during the week or a photo of Max learning something new. School for Max will start on Monday January 2nd after his dentist appointment.
Saturday – Video – This will be a video of something from the week. I found that I didn’t take as much video this year as I would have liked and I want to change that next year. This will make me accountable for that!
The photos and video will be from the prior week including that day. Also, as always, if we have special events or something else going on, I will post about that as well.
