Today Max and I went to the county park and we walked a short ways to the new 9/11 memorial. Now I would have thought that the memorial would have the names of the people that were from this area that were killed. After all one of the famous people that died that day lived not too far from here. However there were no names.
Then I looked at a plaque saying what this was for:
I know this may be hard to read but at one point in the middle/end it says: “The steel cable was part of a World Trade Center elevator and was acquired only a few months before tragedy struck.” So if I am reading this right, there were a ton of things recovered from the site of where the twin towers once stood but this was something that was replaced a few months before the attack occurred, and suddenly became valuable as a result of the attack. Or am I reading it wrong?
