Yep today we had a minor flood in the basement. It wasn’t fun. Our valve on our side of the water meter broke. We are unsure when this happened but I went down this morning to see water all over the floor. I screamed for Tony and we then assessed the damage. 2 boxes (one was sent for donation) and water around Max’s crib. I set to move the crib and was shocked that it wasn’t worse off then it was. Barely any damage on it. We were able to turn the water off on the other side of the meter from inside our house so that was also good. Nearly $200 and a few hours later, it was fixed.
So that was our excitement for today. We also found out that Tony didn’t get the job in Indiana today. The one in California is still a theoretical possibility but that is all it is at this point. So ironically, we are down to jobs either in Boston (may have 2 there), New York, or New Jersey. All of these would involve us staying put in our house. So at least we get to enjoy the new bathroom!
This also made us realize that had we got our wish and got an offer at the end of July, the water valve bursting could have been REALLY bad. I mean it may not have been discovered for several days. Yikes! So someone is watching out for us.
Tony has an interview tomorrow and a phone interview on Monday. So we will have to see how things pan out.
