Bathroom part 3 and some thoughts…

Today we installed laminate flooring in the bathroom. I think it turned out well. We even have enough left over that I think when we get to the new place, I will make a board that can go under Max’s dining chair so when messes happen, they will not land on, what will likely be, white carpet. I guess God really does provide the answers when you need them. I know this was a fear of mine at the last place.

Tony got an unexpected phone interview today with a company outside Boston. They want him to come up for an interview in a couple weeks. However if he gets an offer this week he can cancel. So we will have to see.

Now to my thought. I post on message boards frequently (parenting and infertilty boards normally) and every now and then I run across someone that hears part of our story and would like to hear more. Sometimes I just refer them to here, other times I give them the Readers Digest version. Well tonight I answered to someone who just got the Reader’s Digest version. For some reason, when replying to her saying “Thank you, I know I have been through a lot” reply, I got reminded of a song by Jimmy Buffet. My dad, I believe was a Parrot Head well before there was such a thing. The song I was reminded of is He Went to Paris.

He Went to Paris is about guy talking about his life well into his golden years. One of the last lines of the song are,

Through eighty-six years of perpetual motion; If he likes you he will smile and say; Jimmy, some of it’s magic, some of it’s tragic; But I had a good life all the way.

Here are the lyrics if you want to see the rest of them. Here is the song.

I think that sums up my life for the last 5+ years. I know I am not 86 years old… I keep forgetting how old my grandmother is, but I don’t think she is even that old. If I had to change one thing it would be to change the word “magic” to “miracle” but that wouldn’t rhyme with tragic so I guess that wouldn’t work. However when I think back on it, I think that sums it up well. So that is why I am sharing that now.
