Tony’s day…

Today Tony had a big day. He started the day with a nice breakfast of eggs and pancakes and coffee.

Then Tony went and did taxes. A stressful experience to say the least. After figuring out how big our refund was going to be, we set out to spend it. Ha ha!

We first drove about 1 hour south to a place we thought sold sheds, that were a bit cheaper then plan B to get a shed. Well when we got there we found one other person waiting there in the parking lot and they were not open. Upon calling the number for the store, we got some weird message. Then I looked around at the sheds (from inside the car) and we could see that the shed that was closest to the street, had some of the shingles on the roof blowing off! Now we have been having heavy winds for about 24 hours but still this isn’t a-typical weather. So we left.

We then went about 1 hour north of where we started from. They sell sheds and playsets. Well we needed both. So we found a nice playset for Max that was a last year’s model and had been out all season. It is 6 inches taller then the same model this year. So it is a partial upgrade right there. Because it has been out for a season we also got it at a reduced rate. All the warranties are valid though. So we will get a 5 year, and lifetime warranty on it, some items are 1 year warranty. The wood will need a coat of stain in some spots and it could use a good cleaning, however it is in good shape and these sets are designed to last forever so we think that it was a great buy.

We also purchased a shed for Tony. It is a nice shed that will have ample room in it for all the gardening stuff as well as room for Tony to have his power tools and a work bench. Thus it will be out of the basement and Tony can do tinkering when Max is asleep for a nap.

After we were done with that spending, we decided to drive 2 hours from there, to a small health food store. They had in stock some meat that we were wanting to try to see if we would like to purchase it in bulk. Or to put it another way, if we wanted to purchase a quarter to a half a cow and half a pig. This meat isn’t cheap when you purchase it individually and we walked out of the health food store $56 lighter and with 2 steaks, some short ribs and a sausage (about a 1 lbs of sausage… maybe a bit more). If we were to purchase this meat from the farm it would be more like $4 and change for a pound (anywhere). However when you are purchasing 90+  lbs of meat, you better really like it. So therefore the long drive.

2 hours later we were home. Tony helped make dinner, and chase after Max. Now he is relaxing and looking forward to a restful next 2 days.
