Wow how time flies…

Sorry it is taken me a while to write on here. I have actually had things to say but I knew I also had photo’s to upload and the camera was always not right next to me. Ha ha! Anyway I now have the SD card from the camera so I am good.

I had a scan a week ago today. Tomorrow I should get some results though I am not expecting to hear anything like “You are cancer free” or something of that sort. I am only meeting with my radiation oncologist and I have learned that there is a higharchy to doctors that are in charge of my care. This would be like going to talk to a teachers assistant rather then the principle or your child’s teacher. They can tell you some stuff but not really a whole lot of information. So I am thinking of tomorrow’s meeting more like a preliminary meeting to my August 11th appointment.

Max is doing well with potty training though sometimes he forgets that he needs to go and has accidents. This is less of a case when we are out and about because we make him go.

We took down Max’s crib yesterday. It was a bit sad for me but I know we will have to have it in our room when we put it back up again anyway so that took a bit of the sting away (I co-sleeped with Max for the first 6 months and side car-ed his crib for part of that time). It is nice to have the room in his room though now that it is gone.

Saturday was the 4 year anniversary of me giving birth to the triplets and Christopher dying. Tony and I both wanted to make it a happy day, especially with me and Larry this year. So we focused on Max the whole day. We took him to a teaching supply store and got him some things for when we start school this fall. We also got him a latch board (a board with all sorts of latches on it) and a game that you roll a dice and you count strawberries into a basket (up to three). This is a game that we can play as a family and Max seems to really enjoy it. We also went to Walmart (for a dry erase board and a cork board for school) and BJ’s (for milk). We had a good time and Max really seemed to have fun. Which was really the whole point, and to take our minds off of the events of 4 years prior and to remember the good.

Max yesterday FINALLY started drinking from a cup on his own. When I started Max out on a cup, when he was about 10 months old, I used a straw cup. Well Max was taking to biting the straw cups and I thought I could find extra straws but I couldn’t. So we needed a new solution. So I got him some normal sippy cups. Well as you can imagine he was REALLY confused by the concept of lifting and drinking. So he was making us do it for him. Which I must admit wasn’t fun. Finally yesterday he started doing it on his own (to which Tony and I were dancing with joy on). So that is one less thing for him to get.

Our garden is growing really well. However I don’t have pictures of that this week. I am sorry.

Today I need to try to get quotes to get insulation put in the house. This house is poorly insulated, having just an aluminum foil type of insulation which I guess was common in the 50’s and early 60’s. We have no idea how much this is going to cost but we don’t like our energy bills anymore (especially when they are higher then my mother who lives in Florida and leaves her back door open). So we have to fix this. Someone should be coming here today to give me an estimate. If anyone has any pointers on what to look out for, or what I should ask about please let me know! I would like to make a decision on this by the end of the week.

Okay now photos!

Max tore out the stuffing from one of our sofa cushions (sadly this happens a lot) so I wanted to show what he did and then I made him help me put it back.

Max got his first 2 year molar late last week. It was lower his left. The upper one looks like it isn’t far behind on that side.

Oh and I was looking at a carseat message board (yes there is such a thing) and I saw someone refer to this blog of a family that is selling their house and going to move into a (albeit large) 5th wheel RV and travel the country. They have a 1 year old and a 6 year old who they will homeschool. I thought I would share in case anyone else thinks that this would be GREAT. http://www.myfreerangefamily.com/ However I can’t even convince Tony that a pop up camper would be good for us. Ha ha!

Will update after my radiation oncologist appointment tomorrow (may be Wednesday depending on how Max is when we get home).

Still praying for you and your family. Even though I don’t say much on here, please know I continue to pray and think about how your family is doing. Take care, Jill
