Sorry these first pictures are sideways. I am going to try to fix it after I am done with this posting.
Lets start with the garden… Cucumbers!
Onions, peppers, tomatoes, and parsley! Oh my!
Lettuce, peppers, and where the peas used to be… they died with the heat. However we are planning on planting again for a fall harvest.
Corn, beans, tomatoes, peppers and basil! Yay! The corn is doing really well and I am seeing the start of some cobs on some of the plants.
Max playing in the dirt… his favorite activity!
I have no idea what this flower is and I would like to know. Can someone tell me?
Now on to the not so fun stuff. Max is starting to get some of what is needed to be potty trained. We haven’t given up yet and we are more or less putting him on the pot when we think he needs to go. Most of the time this is without objection. Today however he started playing with his “throne” and we put him on it and he needed to go! This is the first time that he has ever done anything to communicate to us that he needed to go. So that is a promising sign. We are to the point of no return and tomorrow will be 2 weeks since we started. We are not house bound anymore so I imagine that it will just take time before we can say he is officially potty trained.
However the dog has regressed some in the last few days. Peeing and pooing in the house. Not sure what that is about but we think it is an attention seaker as he seems to do it when we are busy with Max. Conversely Max tends to act up when we are busy with Fenway. Oh well this will be over soon.
I had a dermatologist appointment and a dentist appointment this week. Took Max to the dermatologist and all went well. Dermatologist was even in same building as my oncologists so that bodes well for in about a month when I see them again. I don’t need to see the dermatologist or the dentist until it is time for another routine appointment.
Well that is about all for now! Talk to you later!

Jennifer,
That flower looks like a day lilly. We’ve got about a hundred of those. Your garden looks terrific.

You have got a nice garden out there. I think a connection with plants means a connection with the nature itself.

What a great garden you have growing! I bet everything tastes so good when it’s picked fresh. I try to get to one of the local farmer’s markets every so often to buy “picked that day” vegies. They are always delicious.
Hopefully your persistence with Max’s potty training will pay off soon.
Have a great day. Rowena

Jennifer,
This is the first time I am commenting, so I will introduce myself. I have been reading your blog since the other blog when Emily was in the hospital. I am pretty sure I was directed to it by someone on Babycenter? My name is Kristy. I live in Tennessee and teach school, I have 3 daughters ages 11, 9, and 4. Now, to answer your question. We also grow lillies. This is a type of daylily called an orange triple bloomer. They are not as common as others, but are quite beautiful and neat to watch bloom. If you look in the morning it will have only 1 set of petals, a bit later another set and by the afternoon the 3rd set will be open. To purchase one is around $25 here.
