Well the 6 month, 2 week and 2 day wait is over! Max has a dog! His name is Fenway (after the baseball park) and he is a Cavachon (cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon).
We got him Saturday from a nice Mennonite family down in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. Neither Tony nor I had been there so that was a nice drive to say the least. Fenway did very well on his way home as either Tony or I were holding him the whole time. He was a bit unsure of his surroundings that night so that made for a quiet night at home… almost too quiet as I became worried about him and woke at 4:30 to check on him. He was fine and hadn’t left a doodle of any sort so that was good.
Sunday we went to church and he didn’t like being alone for that long but did alright with it. That afternoon we took him to the vet and he didn’t like that one bit!! He is in fine health but he couldn’t not get any immunizations because we hadn’t had him for over a week so therefore we don’t know what is normal or not with him. We will be taking him back on Monday for his immunizations. Sunday night Fenway protested about being confined to the Kitchen but escaped and was quiet from then on out.
Yesterday I took Fenway and Max to the pet store to get the last of the supplies that we needed. Everyone did well but Fenway HATES the car. He isn’t sure about his crate that he travels in so that doesn’t help. Last night however Fenway whined for 3 hours after Tony went to bed. Needless to say Tony isn’t doing well today. We are going to try something different tonight.
This was taken on the day we got Fenway.
These next 2 were taken the on Sunday.
In other news I have only 6 more days of radiation. YAY!!! Friday will me my last dose in it’s current form then on Monday they will just focus on the side that my cancer was actually in. So at least I get to watch something new on that day. No real side effects and my doctor seems to think that I will not have any. I guess since they are avoiding my uterus they are also avoiding other organs down there too. Talk about targeted therapy!!
In case anyone was wondering this is how it has been working with me in radiation. I wake up around 5 am and get ready to go down to get radiation about 1 hour away. I drive down there, get my radiation and drive back. Meanwhile Tony and Max sleep in and then Tony feeds Max and gets ready for work. I come home around 8-9 am and then Tony goes off to work and Max and I have a nice day together. Typically I call Tony on the way home from the hospital and Max has come to know that when the phone rings it is mommy. So that is nice.
Finally I would like to share one thing that Tony and I have been doing. With all the hustle and bustle of the last month, okay 6 months, I decided that I needed help with meal planning. So I joined e-mealz. This is a service that isn’t that expensive ($15 for 3 months unless you use the promo code DAVE then it drops it down to $12 something) and it does all the work of planning dinners. We are on a family plan and it gives us enough food to have a nice dinner and then have leftovers for lunch the next day. None of the meals are hard and they all take well known ingredients and are kid friendly. For us we love that now we don’t do that age old conversation of “what do you want for dinner tonight? I don’t know what do you want?” that gets old VERY quickly. We also are not eating the same thing everyday. Which also gets old. They also give you a grocery list so you can find get what you need at the store without thinking, or if you are like me and stockpile food, you know what you still need and what you can get in your pantry or freezer. Ha ha! Anyway I just got next weeks meals and it looks really good. Yes I sound like a spokes person for the company but when you try something you like, you like to share it.
Updated to post this video. It was too cute I had to share!

Hi Jennifer,
I like your new Blog look. It was fun to see your wedding pictures and the others that you posted. What a beautiful bride you were!
Fenway is adorable and obviously is very good with Max. It will be fun to see both of them growing up.
So glad that your radiation is over and now perhaps your life can start having only good things in it.
Looking forward to more videos of your whole family.
Take care and blessings to you all.
