I wanted to clarify my prior post.
My oncologist said that prior to 5 years ago they treated the cancer and tried to keep the person alive and didn’t care about other “non vital” organs like the reproductive track. If it was easy to protect then they did, however if it wasn’t they didn’t care. The ends justified the means.
However in the last 5 years or so they have really started looking at protecting the other organs in the body that may not be vital. You think of how many people get lymphoma (10th most common and more men then women) and most of those cancers are in other areas of they body. After all there are around 300 lymph nodes in the body. Also my type of cancer is not normally detected till stage 3 or 4 (spread to other areas of the body or other organs) and also I have a bulky form of this cancer. So there are several factors working against me.
So that is why this is sort of uncharted.
