It occurred to me today that I should post a message about the weather. We live in New Jersey and this state doesn’t drain well. In fact it floods with just a good rain event.
The storm on Saturday was quite bad for areas of the state but thankfully we don’t live in one of those areas. If you recall in photos of Max or of the snow, we have a small forest behind our house. Not one tree fell in that area that we could tell. Our house suffered no damage, and our basement stayed completely dry (in large part to our waterproofing system as the outlet for the sump pump showed the pump was pumping out a lot of water).
However the town that we go to our churches in didn’t fair as well. Both churches sustained no damage (much to the shock of some of us at the Lutheran church as there are at least 2 badly diseased trees there). The town itself had/has widespread power outages and we saw one car (it appeared to be parked at the time) with a tree on it when we went to church on Sunday. Several trees were uprooted all over. The lake/stream that goes through town is very high. I have lived in this area for a total of 7 years and I have never seen it that high actually.
I don’t have anything else new that is going on. Tomorrow I am going to the doctor and for more Chemo. Tony is going with me (as is Max) and I will update what is said when I get to the Chemo room (or in the waiting room).
