Sorry it has taken me so long to write again. I have been very busy. So busy in fact that Tony doesn’t always know what I am doing so I have updated the calendar (linked to the right).
First appointment: Max
Stats: Height – 0.813 m (2 foot 8 inches) 96.55% length for age
Weight – 11.907 kg (26 lbs 4 oz.) 89.80% weight for age
Head Circumferance – 47.2 cm (18.58 inches) 74.07% head circumferance for age
So as you can see Max is a big boy now! He is doing well developmentally. Though they asked me if he is doing Intsy Wentcy Spider, which I didn’t have an answer for because I don’t do that with Max.
The doctor seemed a bit concerned with his weight as it went up on percentile. However I figure it is because walking isn’t his primary mode of transportation yet. Though he is walking 6-9 steps in a row now so he is close.
They ordered a blood test (CBC and baseline lead) which we had to go do yesterday (not fun!). He also got some vaccines. The flu shot will have to be repeated this month. He will not go back for a well baby check till right before Christmas.
So Max is doing well.
Second appointment – Babies E, G, H, I, and J.
We decided to bring Max with us to this appointment. He did realtively well and only really started having issues in the last 3-5 minutes (the appointment lasted about 1 hour).
They are going to do a complete baseline of me. So I have TONS of testing to do. Including a 3 hour glucose tollerance test, which is what you have when you have gestational diabietes, which I had 4 years ago. They also said that in order to do my “monitoring cycle”, I have to have Max weaned for 4 weeks prior. Well tomorrow will be 1 week. So we will have to see.
He said that we will likely be cycling in January. So that would put us (assuming it works) with a baby due around the same time as Max. They will be painting the lab over Christmas and that will have to be aired out before they can take embryo’s out.
All told the appointment went well although I am a bit upset that I have to wait 4 weeks from weaning Max before I can even start to move forward.
Max’s birthday
Max had a good birthday but he wasn’t feeling great. We did what we normally do that day (work around the house) though at night we let Max have a Klondike bar. Max loved it till it started to melt and he couldn’t figure out why it was “going away”. So he tried to “put it back together” but it wouldn’t work so he just got mad. It was so sad!
What else has been happening…
Max is now better from his cold. However Tony and I both got the cold that has been mild but annoying. We are now on the mend from that. On Saturday we also chopped down one of the trees in our backyard. So that was a bit exciting.
Well that is all I have for now!
