Well we have been busy as ever. The weekend after we got back we moved Max’s crib into our room. I didn’t think all of his furniture would fit into our room but to my shock it did! Though I will admit it was rather tight in there. We did this because Max and his future siblings will need to share a room and Max’s old room was the smallest bedroom in the house. I don’t even think we could get a second crib in there if we need to. It is that small!
The following weekend we took all of the things out of Max’s closet (admittedly this has needed to be done since we moved in 1 year ago) and organized them and put the things in storage that needed to go there, and found a few toys that Max could play with now (either were Emily’s or stuff I had purchased over the years). So Max was happy about that. This also meant that we had to organize part of the basement in order to put up the shelves that we needed to put up to put this stuff on them.
Well after 2 weeks in our room I was ready to get back into his own room again. So last weekend Tony primed and painted the walls, ceiling, and trim in the closet and our new room (Max’s old room). He also primed and painted the ceiling and walls (the walls are short and he only used about a pint of paint) and trim in the main bathroom. We also installed plantation blinds in both rooms.
With that done I was able to start moving things over from our room to our new room yesterday. I still am continuing it today and then cleaned Max’s new room and organized it so that he now has a play area in his room.
We still need to prime and paint his room (which is a bigger job because the trim is the same color as the walls and the closet is a walk in closet). However it is starting to come together.
In other news I have had to figure out how much it was going to cost to get Max’s siblings next year. My hope was to wean Max in September and start testing (for the next cycle) sometime in October. Well when I called about how much it would cost, I was shocked to find out that my doctor, who I normally had a couple weeks wait, was now booking out 2 months. Yikes! So needless to say I booked that appointment right away… for October 19. Well after I got off the phone with them I started thinking that I completely forgot that I also needed to see my nutritionist there too. So today I called and there just happen to be a cancellation. So now my doctor appointment is September 25, one day before Max turns 1. I will also see the nutritionist on October 9, and the OB/GYN on October 13. So we are well on our way to getting 2 of our “totcycles”.
And all this means that next week I really need to start weaning Max. You know the whole time Emily was alive, I only wanted to feed her. Now my little boy is growing up and doesn’t need breast milk as much as he used to. He is now eating almost everything we eat (the only things he isn’t eating are the things on the “no no” list from the pediatrician). It is going to be a bit of a bittersweet time for me in the next few weeks. However I have learned a TON in the last year and I feel that even if we end up with twins next time I will be able to meet their nutritional needs for a year as well.
Talk to you soon! Have a great Labor Day weekend if you are in the US.

Exciting news from you! Looking forward to meeting Max’s little brother or sister!
You certainly have been busy since returning from you trip. How does Max like his new room? Is he sleeping well there?
Good luck with weaning. Hope it goes smoothly.
