Max today…

Hello!

Well sorry for no message for so long. We went to Boston on Sunday and got back Tuesday late (11:30 pm). So we are still trying to adjust to normal life again.

Max got his first top tooth on Friday. I was a bit shocked. He didn’t seem that “different” right before this time. Maybe he knew what was coming. This tooth is on his left upper. I think his right upper will come any day now. It is quite swollen there.

Max did very good with the trip. We went to a dog show on Sunday so we didn’t actually start leaving for the trip till around 2:30. Then I listened to the navigational system instead of doing what I normally do and we went through NYC which was a nightmare. It took 2 hours of stop and go traffic to get through that. Needless to say the 5 hour trip took 7 hours.

We had fun once we were there though. Max and I went shopping on Monday. Then we went to a friend of mine house for dinner. I used to take care of her son when we lived up there. It was nice to see everyone.

Then on Tuesday, Max and I went to a cloth diaper store (thank goodness there isn’t one near me I could see spending a fortune there!), then we went to get a Wally the Green Monster doll for Max. Unfortunately it was raining the whole time so I got rather soaked! I am sure I also looked a bit funny since I had a couple of bags attached to the stroller. We left to come back home at 4:30 and even though we went the way I would normally go, it still took us 7 hours to get home! I guess that is because of our dinner that we had.

Wednesday Max and I slept. Max didn’t sleep very well on the trip. He was so excited to be in a new place that he was wide awake at times he normally isn’t. He did sleep when he was in his stroller but not for very long stretches. So needless to say we both needed sleep.

Yesterday Max and I went to playgroup then we went to the fabric store. It became obvious in our trip that I need to have a high chair cover for Max for when we go out with him. Unable to find one I like online or in a store I have decided to make one. We are going on another trip in 2 weeks so I have to get busy making it! I have been able to cut out most of the pieces in the last 24 hours and hope to get more done this weekend.

Today we spent grocery shopping. Though Max had a strange nap schedule and didn’t want to sleep. I tried holding him but this seemed to make things worse so I put him in his jumperoo and he fell asleep. Ordinarily I wouldn’t let him sleep in there but today I am happy that he is SLEEPING so I am leaving him be.

Okay now to the dog…
The results of our poll are in –
Havanese – 11 votes or 37%
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – 18 votes or 62%

And our final say is… We are getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We spoke to a breeder who is the president of the local AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club and she said we should give her a call 4 weeks before we want our dog. So I believe our plan is to call her when we get back from our large train trip this summer. We are leaning towards a Blenheim or red and white dog, though we will take any color.

Sorry for no photo’s today. I didn’t know how long Max would sleep and I don’t want to move around and wake him up. I will try to post earlier in the week next week with a big photo spread!

Talk to you later!
