Max and the microwave…

Max has been having trouble napping the last few days. Something I am sure I mostly to blame for but I have those setbacks every now and then. Because of that the blog posts have been sporadic. So I am sorry.

Max has been doing well otherwise though. He loves to roll on the floor. And obviously he enjoys bouncing in his jumperoo. I have had to take him out for various things lately (and here I thought this would be a boring week!) and he has done well every time.

When we go to the grocery store people always come up to us and tell me how cute he is and how he “has the life.” Max has been enjoying sucking on his thumb more and more lately. He also has been hiding his head under his blanket when he is in his crib. This normally gives us a bit of a panic attack since we have a video monitor but then we go in there and get it off his head.

Now to the microwave. For the last few weeks since Max started eating solids I have been freezing his food in ice cube trays and taking out a cube of this and a cube of that for his meals. Well I have noticed that the microwave would make a funny sound when the rice was in there. Not sure why it just did.

Well yesterday Max was fussy right before he was to have dinner. So instead of pumping and giving him a normal meal I just fed him. This meant that I didn’t have milk (that wasn’t frozen… and I prefer to save that for a bit) to mix his cereal with. So instead I just gave him carrots (that were frozen) and peaches (which were room temperature since I just made them). I put the carrots in the microwave and the sound came on! I stopped the microwave and Tony looked at it. Turns out our microwave had started arching! So no more microwave. It was 12 years old.

We are thinking about redoing the kitchen one day and I had wanted an over the stove microwave when that day came. Well we needed a microwave and we are not redoing the kitchen. So I got a counter top model and I figure that I will put it in a cabinet or something when the time comes to redo the kitchen. I got a microwave that has True cook plus this is like the old “VCR Plus” that used to be available for VCR’s in that you put in a code for a food and it will cook it for you the way the food maker wants you to. No more guess work. Hopefully this technology will be around for a while so I will be able to use it. Ha ha!

This first picture reminds me of one of me… though I think I was much older (though under 2 and ironically with about the same amount of hair).

Happy Max!

Happy BRAVE Max (standing on his own in play yard).

Max being Max. He loves to grab things now. This last Monday I had to go to the DMV to get my driver licence renewed Max decided that he would grab everything in sight except for his toys. So here I was Max strapped to me in the carrier (facing me no less) and he was turning his body so that it was near impossiable for me to fill out forms and things. Yes he is at a fun stage now!

Talk to you later!
