Maximillian 2 weeks, 4 days old

Hello,

Well Max has been a handful at times in the last week. He loves to cuddle… at least with me, daddy and others he seems not so sure of. He will happily sleep in his bassinet but only during the day. In fact it is so bad at night that I thought for a while that he may be afraid of the dark. However now I am thinking that isn’t the case.

I have found out that I have to eliminate all onion and broccoli from my diet. If I eat even a little bit of one he will get horriable gas pains that I will end up suffering for. Today he was fussy and I couldn’t figure out why. Then I remembered that I ate a few onions on Sunday night. Poor little guy had them just hit him now.

Max is getting better head control. He is doing really great with it but he is still a bit floppy. I did put him on his belly for a minute today. He screamed as most children do but he did lift his head and put it at center (down). So that was nice to see. Once I saw that I decided he had enough belly time and picked him up… much to his relief!

Max is down to only being supplimented with formula at night… if then. Last night I was able to get him to go to sleep without being supplimented. That felt great from my standpoint. I think Max enjoyed it as well but I think that had more to do with the on demand, whenever he wanted it, feeding that I did to get him like that. Ha ha!

I have discovered that Max loves being outside. I took him outside briefly today and we walked around the house. He was fussy going outside but once there he quieted down and loved it. Yesterday I had went on a walk with him and he fell asleep. My “dad #2” was here and so I stayed outside with Max while Dad #2 did some things outside that needed to be done. Max slept so well out there I was having to check to make sure he was alright! Clearly the fresh air he loves! Too bad we will not have many more warm days that he can enjoy it. I hope tomorrow to take him on another walk.

Max doesn’t like any form of baths. He has had both sponge bath’s and tub and neither one did he like much. However I have switched him over to the cloth diapers and he seems to be liking them more then the paper ones that he was in prior. So that is good!

Sorry for no pictures. I went to use the camera today only to find out that our batteries were all dead. I plan on charging them up as soon as I am done with this post.

Max is more alert now and I think I will be able to take some really good pictures of him in the next couple days. I will try to post them when I get them.
