Long overdue post…

Hello Everyone!

Well as you can see fall has come to our neck of the woods. The first picture is of Nassau hall. It was a bit dark out but I still think it is a cool picture. The other two are taken on our patio. The last picture is of me because I recently got my hair cut. My mom saw the made up version but this is me when I don’t have a stylist. I like my hair now. For those who don’t know me I have had the same long hair style for about 12 years. This style cut off about 8 inches off. I had a lot of hair! There is a picture of me with Emily in the other blog that shows how long my hair was. It was taken about 1 month before she died.

I got the news from the beta back. Sadly it wasn’t good news. My beta level has lowered to 10 from 15. I need it to be under 5. So now they are having me go back in 2 weeks. This really doesn’t change anything as far as me cycling. I am just going to call them when I get my period and with any luck I will be below 5 then. Then I can do testing and all and move forward. I don’t expect to get my period though for a couple of weeks. My guess is a week from yesterday (or Sat. Dec. 1st). I guess that only because I have a dentist appointment the following day and this would make it so that would conflict. I would have to figure out a way of being in two places at once!

In other news my beloved Sally (our Camry) has a boo boo. Tony was stopped at an intersection and a delivery truck rear-ended him. He is fine but Sally got a bit of a bump. Her bumper is cracked and I worry that with Tony normally driving Sally that if he got rear-ended again that the next person would end up in the back seat! So tomorrow we are bringing her in to be repaired. It is expected to take 2 days but that is only based on what they can see from the outside. There is a chance that there could be more damage on the inside that they can’t see. That is why I thought this week would be perfect. We have an extra day on Wednesday and Tony will not have to miss work. (You all know how I don’t like him to miss work! Ha ha!)

Tony got his Christmas present already. It is a limited edition book, The Grimani Breviary. Tony hasn’t looked at it much yet but it looks like it will be a treasure in our family for years to come!

Thanksgiving: Well for Thanksgiving we are going to stay at home this year. I got a turkey breast and we are going to brine it in a cider brine. We are also going to have Cranberry Stuffing, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, and for desert Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake. Believe it or not I have planned this meal to work in my diet. So that is good! We will just have LOTS of left overs! I am going to try to take a picture of the final product and I will post it next weekend.

Next weekend I also plan on bringing out some of Christmas. I am going to use my tomato cages as Christmas trees in my pots on the patio (upside down of coarse). I will string a bunch of lights on them. I also plan on doing lights around in other areas out there. Depending on how festive I may get I might also bring out indoor Christmas with my Snow Village and the Christmas tree (fake of coarse!). Depending on how much I get done I will also take pictures of that.

Well that is about all I can think of. I hope all is well with everyone and I hope that you have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving… provided you celebrate it.

Jennifer

Just a quick note to say Happy Thanksgiving to you and Tony. We are leaving today to spend the holiday at Mammoth (a ski resort in CA) There isn’t enough snow to ski but we will enjoy the beautiful scenery and cold weather. It’s sometimes hard for it to feel like Thanksgiving in San Diego when it is so warm. We will be with two of our kids and one grandchild plus our daughter’s in laws who are very good friends of ours. I will spend the day cooking which I love to do. We go hear almost every year so it has become a tradition of sorts.

Must get ready to leave soon. Take care, Rowena

  2. Its great to see your update even though you are still waiting for your next cycle to start cause I have been wondering how you have been. Hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!
