We got back from our consult today. It was in the evening so therefore the late posting of this today.
My doctor was very relieved to hear that all outward signs of infection (fever, chills and so on) were gone. I guess he has heard about really bad things happening, and since it is very rare to have an infection like I did he was clearly concerned. So that is good.
We told him that we would like to do another round of IVF. We ultimately want three children and any way we slice it we will be heading to IVF again since it is REALLY unlikely that frozen junior would become two let alone three. He said that sounded like the best idea to him too. However he had to list all of our options.
He said that with this round of IVF I will be on a lower dose of Lupron, and on a higher dose of Gonal F (actually with the Gonal F it will be the same dose that I had with the IUI to get the triplets). In simple terms he is going to not suppress me as much and then stimulate me a bit more. The reason for this is it took 6 days with the IVF to see any eggs. Ideally they like to do the egg retrieval on day 10 and eggs don’t mature overnight (typically it is around a week or so, at least that is my impression). My egg retrieval this time was 13 days after I started the stimulation drugs.
Other then that he said that I should be able to do an IVF cycle really soon. With my next cycle (which I am told can be 8 weeks from when I miscarried) I will have more tests and have to have another hysteroscopy (see posts at the end of march beginning of April). This will be my third one and it doesn’t bother me. Last time I took left over pain medication from the c-section, this time I will just take 3 Motrin and call it good, since the left over medication is over a year old and therefore we assume is no good.
So my guess is I will be doing IVF around the first of the year. It could be pushed back or pushed up depending on what my body does. My doctor did say that they will not allow me to do my egg retrieval the week between Christmas and New Years so assuming I don’t fall under that then I should be good. If I do then I will be pushed back a cycle. Near as I can figure I will be good as long as my cycle doesn’t start between November 5 and November 17th. We shall see though.
In other news Tony got me my birthday present early this year (he does that a lot perhaps because I always pick out my gift). Anyway, I got the ultimate accessory for Maya, Sally could use it too, of a navigational system. According to the voice directory her name is Jill. Though part of me really wants to switch it to the British girl voice. Her name is Emily. Then again that could be freaky to have Emily in my navigational system. Oh well, I really like Jill and I am having all sorts of fun with her. I really like how it can tell me where businesses are. I can’t tell you how many times it would be nice to go to the next closest store to find something I really want. Now I know where that next closest one is.
Well that is all the news I have for now. I have started to work on my sewing again. None to soon either because I have no maternity clothes for the winter and if I am doing IVF in the winter I should really have something to wear!
Talk to you all later!
