My nutritionist appointment

Well, my appointment went well. I am now given 1800 calories. Last year I was given 1600 with the option to go up. What I don’t understand though is how I could be given the same carbs and protein yet more calories.

I also think that I see all of this too black and white. I count EVERY carb and EVERY protein gram. It doesn’t appear that they do however. Also they have a “free food list” but it has many things that are fat free or reduced fat. Great in concept but not when your counting carbs. Fat free and reduced fat products tend to have higher carbs in them. At least that is my experience.

I think what I will try to do is eat more Whole Grains and Vegetables. Beyond that I am not sure. Perhaps Tony can make sense of it for me. I did get that I can have only 3 whole eggs a week (more if only egg whites) and soy products no more then every other day.

For those of you that are diabetic my diet is very similar as yours but not as strict, from what I understand.

If anyone can make sense of this (or help me to) please chime in.

Rowena-That is great that you were able to go to the ball game and have them win! I know what you mean though that you never know the players anymore. I root for the Red Sox (from our days in Boston and they won the World Series) and I don’t know who half the people are on there. Ha ha!

I will update when I figure out some of this or when I have more to say.
