Empty house…

Well, we thought by now we could say we adopted a child and we could tell you all about it. Sadly, that isn’t the case. Last month we had to withdrawal a request for adoption. The child had been in our home for 3 years and we were very ready for adoption, but the situation changed and we had to go along with it.

So now we are a family of 4 again. We will likely get another child but we will keep this aforementioned child’s bed open for them incase they need to come back. We are thinking by the first of the year we will then fill that bed as well, meaning if they don’t come back, we will see it as we can fill that bed as well.

The boys have been doing well. Max is growing up more and more everyday. He is now taller than me, but a stiff breeze could knock him over. He wants to become an engineer now and study in Switzerland. He still loves trees, farms, and cars. German is going well for him so I have confidence that if he applies himself, he could actually achieve his goals.

Nathaniel is doing well as well. His head is going in all the directions at once. He talks WAY more than Max does. He is never afraid to say his opinion (though we are working on that) and will talk your ear off. I feel he will likely become an environmental lawyer. He is passionate about all animals and creatures. He also loves gaming (Mindcraft, Zelda). If you ask him he would love to become a You Tuber. He doesn’t have a camera though so that has to wait for now.

Both children have had issues with coming out of Covid lock down. Nathaniel forgot many daily things that I forgot to tell him about. Lockdown was nearly 1/3 of his life so it is no wonder. We are slowly going back to things and hope this will make it so we can travel soon. We have 2 big trips planned (and we hope to bring a foster with us). One is across the country driving to see family, and the other is around German speaking countries (Austria, Germany, Switzerland).

We have started riding bikes as a family. This has been great for us in many ways. We got our bikes in April and since then we have taken them everywhere. We often go grocery shopping on our bikes and will just use them for fun too.

Well that is us in a nutshell. We have had some high’s and low’s but here we are.
