I have seen the lights go out in Jersey…

Maximus created some great photos for me yesterday. I was going to update the blog about it yesterday afternoon but couldn’t.

This shows snow on our windows. It was really coming sideways for a bit and sticking to everything.

Then we lost power. That wasn’t so fun. Tony said he was on his way home so looked out the window and realized that he couldn’t get into the driveway with 6-8 inches of snow there… at least not in a Camry. So I raced outside with Nathaniel and put Nathaniel in the stroller while I proceeded to lift this heavy snow off of our driveway. However my neighbor saw me and offered to snow blow our driveway! Who said New Jersey people don’t help one another?

In these photos you can see the driveway before and after, and see a car stuck in the snow in the road! It was really fun out there!

I bundled up Nathaniel in our power outage. He sat with me well for a bit, but then he wanted to play. So I put him in the bouncer.

At one point we realized we needed dinner so we thought and thought what we would do. Finally I remembered I had a pre-packaged box meal that could be made on the skillet. So we took that out and lit our stove top manually.

Shrimp were part of that meal. We were able to get it quite warm… well at least warmer then the rest of our house, in the kitchen. Max was freaked out about eating in the dark, Nathaniel was just freaked out thinking it was nigh night time when it was only 7.

These photos show me trying to take Nathaniel’s photo in the dark. Flash didn’t work so well so I did it without flash.

The power came back on at about 9 pm. I learned a TON and I will be writing about that in my next post… hopefully later today!

Here is the snow this morning.
