Coneheads and appointments…

I never thought Nathaniel would look like a “cone head” but here he certainly does!

Hello!

We have been busy with this site (moving all the photos is a lot of work and time consuming!!) and doing daily life. Tony is off vacation now so I have been teaching Max and figuring out ways to use turkey, dairy free. The other night I made my version of a dairy free Turkey teterazini where I made a white sauce with lard, spelt flour, and almond milk, and combined that with a bit of our gravy. I then sautéed some celery and onion and added some cut up turkey. I didn’t have long noodles so I used penne. It was good but I think the ratio of Penne to the rest was a bit off. Next time I think I would use only 1/2 a pound of uncooked pasta.

I have been posting lots of recipes to Pinterest that I have been finding. Today I found one for Porridge. I didn’t know what porridge was. I thought it was another word for oatmeal, or cream of wheat. This is a tropical recipe. So when I go shopping tomorrow or Friday I will get some bananas and pineapple so I can try it this next week. 🙂

If you have been following my blog for a while, you may know that I am fairly old fashion. We even eat that way! I saw this on Facebook yesterday and I think someone was making fun of it. I thought it was interesting and should at least be a useful tool in talking to my son’s about what they should look for when looking for a spouse. Yeah they may not weight it like this, but I would hope that I would raise them so they would at least value most of these.

We got this bulletin board about 18 months ago on Freecycle. It has taken us a while to get it up which finally happened on Saturday. Today I decided that it would be a GREAT place to show what Max has done with his school work everyday. You know, instead of the big mess on the dining room table. Ha ha! The board was in somewhat rough shape so I covered it with construction paper. Max can also post his artwork on here and it can be rotated as needed. A win win! We have this in our dining room. Probably not a permanent spot for it, but for now it fits our needs and works.

We had a doctor’s appointment for Nathaniel on Monday. He is still having weight issues. He is hovering at or below the 0.1 percentile. We are trying our best but there is only so much we can do with his weight. We are not that concerned, other then it is VERY hard to go to the doctor lately. We look at our whole little boy and not just his weight. He is meeting or exceeding milestones for his age, and recently we think he has started getting bored! Which for me is terrifying that he can get bored at 4 months of age! So we are trying our best and hoping that he grows as much as he can. Our next appointment is on December 30 and Tony should be able to come with me to that.

Speaking of appointments, I have a CT scan a week from yesterday. I don’t mind these as they are not painful or anything. I just can breastfeed for 12 hours afterwards. This is going to make for a VERY stressful day for Nathaniel. He LOVES to go to sleep nursing. It should be interesting to say the least. However I scheduled the scan so that I could start feeding him before he goes to sleep at night. That should help him… I hope. I will get the results of this scan a week later, though I know my Oncologist well enough to know that if I haven’t heard from her by Friday, I am likely fine. She will get the results likely Tuesday or Wednesday.
