Packing and boxes…

It seems this year has been one of dashing to do this or that. I am hoping that next week when we get our floors done I can take a break… even if it is only for a moment. We have been spending much of our time trying to get our house ready for next week. We essentially have to move out of it for the floors to be done. It shouldn’t be that bad though as we should have room in other places for things.

This weekend we all seemed to have a bit of a cold. That certainly didn’t help us as we were all tired and such all weekend long. Happily we seem to be better now though pollen season is starting to hit and it is only a matter of time before we all have green cars!

Tuesday I took Max in for his well visit. I thought that this would be fairly simple as he is 6 months overdue for it. They asked me all sorts of strange questions like, has Max been around any homeless people or anyone who has HIV. I am sorry but I don’t go up to people and say “Nice to meet you, do you have HIV??” To me that is just rude. They also asked me if Tony or I have ever had cholesterol over 200. I don’t really pay attention to things like that. I am more of the camp unless the doctor tells me I should worry about X I would rather not think about it. However I know enough to know that Tony has been told to go onto a statin and I have cholesterol levels that normally make Tony cry (out of jealousy) whenever he hears of them. So I said yes. They then want me to take Max in to get a lipid panel done!! I couldn’t believe it! He is only 3.5 years old and eats better then many adults! However they gave me the script and the nurse muttered that I didn’t have to do it if I didn’t want. Trust me I am not doing this. If he has to get blood work done for something else I may consider it but at this point this seems needless.

Yesterday Tony and I both had our eyes checked. The doctor informed me that I will likely need to have glasses after age 40. Big shock there as both of my parents have glasses with my mom getting surgery next week to get one of her eyes fixed so she wouldn’t need them. Tony on the other hand didn’t have his prescription change that much. The doctor even told him he wouldn’t get new glasses as his eyes were not that much different! This is the first time since I met Tony that he didn’t need new glasses after going to the eye doctor! They told us that Max has another year before he needs to be checked again.

My sister came in second in her skating competition over the weekend. We are all very proud of her! I can’t wait to see the video of her as my father has told me he would send me. I don’t remember when her next event is but I don’t think it will be that long.

Well today and tomorrow we are going to holy week services. Sunday we are still trying to figure out what time we will go to Easter services. We have a lot to do that day and will end the day at a hotel. We move our couch downstairs on Saturday morning so not sure how we will watch TV that night. I will try to take before and after photos of everything so you can see. We should be in for quite a treat!
