How come…

When you go on vacation your schedule gets more busy right before hand?

Today I spent the day running around finding things, and researching things, and purchasing things needed for the most basic of trips. I mean I took my son cross country on a train for 3 days a year ago. I should have everything that I would ever need, but no.

Of coarse it doesn’t help that we have that section in the basement that I am sure most people have in there house somewhere. The clutter box area. You know, you get tired of seeing clutter and you don’t have the time, or can’t go through the clutter on your own (because some of it is other people’s clutter) so you shove it into a box hoping that one day you will go back to it and organize it. Yeah we have a lot of those boxes and stuff I need for this trip is in that area. Thankfully I was able to find it all! Oh and yes we do have plans to go through these boxes. It is starting to get ridiculous. Ha ha!

However Max did do some amazing things today! Max rode up then down on an escalator! He didn’t really understand the up one and wanted to climb at first like steps but I told him no and he stayed put. On the way down he did much better and I believe actually enjoyed it!

I also got him a toddler size knife, spoon and fork and he got to use them at dinner tonight. He loved it! I know at his 2 year well visit I was going to be asked about this so I had to get him the utensils. I am just so happy that he has taken to it so quickly!

Tomorrow we have a fun filled day of going to get dry cleaning (I forgot today) and get the dog licenced. As much as I would like to, I can’t really start packing till after I get my computer back on Wednesday. Then I can itemize everything as I pack it so we don’t forget anything. Yes I am a bit anal. Ha ha!

I wanted to address some questions that were left for me today.

I am starting to feel normal again. My endurance isn’t as it was before but that is about it that isn’t back to normal. It doesn’t help that Max has MAJOR sleeping issues stimming from all of this. So he wants me to either hold him, or take a nap with him during the day. At night he is happy if I am just reading his story to him. I am hoping that soon I will be able to correct the nap issue but I will have to make sure my endurance is up and so it might be a while.

Max actually has 2 chinese aunts. My 9 year old sister Jazmyn, and my 7 year old sister Jun Jun (she will be 8 in a matter of days). They have been wonderful at helping me with the tonal patterns of Chinese. Jun Jun remembers much of it from when she was in China and Jazmyn is in an immersion school (so is Jun Jun but she is just now entering the 1st grade). So they both have been great at answering questions I have about the language. However they agree that our father shouldn’t learn it because he says things funny. Ha ha!

Well that is all I have for now. Talk to you later!

  1. What immersion school are your sisters in? Here in Vancouver we only have French immersions. I would love a mandarin immersion since we’re adopting from china. Why are you learning the language, if you don’t mind me asking 🙂
