5 months 5 days old….

Well today is the day that I knew would come eventually. Max is 5 months 5 days old. He is the same age Emily was when we lost her. Thinking back on it, it is rather surprising that she was able to live this long. I feel that Max has come a long way since he was born. He can move around, babble, demand things, play, and is growing more and more everyday. I guess Emily was the same way only she had things like breathing and eating on her list.

Max is having a relatively good day today. He hasn’t had to have Tylenol since 3 am this morning. So that is good. He has been sleeping well and not always on me so that is even better.

Yesterday Max said (in the proper context) “na na un-gree”. Max thinks he is saying “ma ma” when he says “na na”. I think he sees that I speak slightly different when I say “ma ma” but he hasn’t figured out how do to it yet. “un-gree” is his word for food or hungry. I guess I was saying “Are you hungry” every time I would feed him so he figured out that hungry was what he was suppose to say. The only problem is he can’t say hungry so it comes out un-gree.

This morning added to his proper context versing when I suddenly dropped down my knees when he was on them. He said “whoa!” Tony and I both thought that was funny.

Well we were planning on doing something really great today because of the milestone that we reached. However we got a nor’easter instead. It was about 16 degrees this morning (-9 C) and our high was suppose to be about 25 (-4 C). So needless to say going out was low on my list of things to do today.

Anyway that is okay. Some of you may have been at our wedding where it snowed 27 inches that day. Yes that too was a nor’easter. It seems that we are destined to have our major milestones be in the snow. How odd is that when you consider that right after Emily died, my mother and step father came up and we went up to the Adirondacks mountains (north of Albany, New York if you are looking for them on a map) to Lake Placid where the US has all these facilities for the Olympic teams. This is where they had 2 winter Olympics. Emily died on January 5th if you remember. And there was no snow up there when we were there. I guess only the happy events in our life involve snow.

This is the snow we woke up to on Sunday, March 1st. By the way most of this melted during the coarse of the day.

Here is the snow that we woke up to on Monday, March 2nd.

After I took those I took this video:

All told I would guess that we got between 8-10 inches (20-25 cm) of snow.

This morning this is what the minivan looked like (taken from inside the house)

And the street and grass this morning. Yes the road was more or less a sheet of ice. They had to come down it with the salt trucks. I can’t tell you how many times this morning I heard cars skidding.

Here is a happy Max this morning.

Finally here is a happy baby jumping today.

    Hello Jennifer,

I’m so thankful that you can now celebrate 5mo and 6 days with Max!

The pictures are all great. I especially loved the video of the snow falling since I hardly ever get to see that sight. It is so beautiful.

Hope your weather warms up soon.
