Over due post

Hello everyone!

These 2 pictures were taken last Sunday. We believe that this will be the last time our little boy will be able to wear his take home outfit. Look how nice it fits him though.

These were both taken during “picture time” noted below (see day in the life…)

This was my attempt at getting a picture of Max like how he looks at me.

Max is doing well. He still hasn’t figured out how to roll over back to front but he looks like he will be doing it anytime now. We did weigh him today (he was in his PJ’s and diaper) and he was 15.4 lbs. Wow! He is getting so big! A week from today he will have his 4 month check up so we should get a better idea of things at that point.

Max is drooling a ton! To the point that sometimes it is hard to get a good picture of him but I did try.

On January 16 (last Friday) I did a day in the life of Maximillian:

12:40 PM wake up eat
1:00 watch mom eat then play with mama
1:30 Diaper change (wet) play, eat (slight nap)
2:00 nap then play
2:30 play with mama
3:00 eat then sleep
4:00 storytime then taking pictures

5:00 eat then sleep, eat then cry
6:00 cry then eat then time with daddy

8:00 eat on and off
8:30 asleep
12:30 am next day woke up to eat.

I really need to get a video of his brushing of the gums. He is sooooo funny in it. I will try to do that tonight. You can see that Max is having a hard time with his sleep during the day. I figure that I will get his night time figured out then work on the daytime. He is starting to get better and more predictiable at night. We were transitioning him to his crib at night and it was slow going but I think now I understand what he needs to sleep.

As you can see we have got snow here. The first one was taken today and the second one was taken yesterday.

When Max saw me with the camera today he wanted part of the action. So I took a picture of him playing in his gym.

I thought it was time to show Max’s diaper stash. These are all of his Piddle Poddle diapers. These are all fitted one size diapers except for the top right hand diaper and the two in the bottom row on the right. Those three diapers are all in 2 diapers that don’t need a cover… even when we go out of the house.

Starting top left: Bum Genius pocket one size, Goodmama fitted one size (pups run), Whammies one size pocket diaper. Next row down: Patooshie Pants One size (cornflower blue) fitted, Goodmama one size fitted (butterscotch), Swaddlebees all in one side snap (medium size), prefold diapers green edged infant size – we have 24 of these not all are pictured. Next row: Whammies one size pocket diaper, Kissaluv size 0 fitted diapers (these are almost too small for him we have inserts for all of them and he has a total of 11 of them), Bum Genius cotton fitted diapers (we have 3 extra small- don’t fit anymore, 3 small- fit but are getting tight and 2 mediums of these diapers).

First 2 are covers. I am unsure of the make of them but they are Swaddlebees/Blueberry. We have one with circles and then we have 2 blue and one yellow of the yellow one. These covers are all small but I think Max has some room in it. The last one in that row is a Swaddlebees merino wool cover in medium. The pants on the bottom are merino wool and are reversable to the color shown at the cuff. The wool pants and cover can be used in the place of a cover. I have wool on order to make Max a third pair of pants. All the wool is medium in size.

These are his cloth wipes. The white one is organic bamboo velour with sherpa (cotton) on the other side. All the rest are cotton flannel and Organic bamboo velour.

Finally these are his “wetbags”. These are used when we go out to take the dirty diapers home in (in the place of a plastic bag). The larger one can hold several diapers and the smaller one has a pocket to hold a diaper in for a bag to be used when making quick trips.

Well that is all I have for now and Max wants attention. Talk to you all later!
Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

As usual the pictures of Max are adorable. He looks like such a happy baby.

Enjoyed seeing all of your diaper covers etc. You have quite a collection. I suppose everyone should probably start using cloth diapers. Here in California, however, we have a severe water shortage and probably need to conserve water more that worry about filling up the waste sights. Everything seems to be a trade off these days.

Anyway, hope you are having a good week. It was fun to see the snow on your house/yard. Did you get much ice or snow from this last storm to pass through?

as for sleeping throughout the day, you should check out the book On Becoming Babywise. They talk a lot about babies and their sleep patterns.
