Monday update…

Well everything is going well here.

It has finally started (albeit slowly) to warm up around here. I believe this has made it so the plants think it is “pollen season”. So although I think my morning sickness is really not that bad now (almost not there), because of the pollen and alergies I am now dealing with a constant queeziness. This makes it so shortly after I eat I need to take a peppermint candy. Junior likes the food, he or she just doesn’t like mommy with a full belly. Peppermint calms down junior.

I am unsure of my weight gain, however I have measured my belly and it is 36.75 inches around roughly. So I am getting bigger.

Question time:
Have you considered using cloth diapers and sewing them? I have considered using cloth diapers but Tony doesn’t like the idea. I was thinking of using a diaper service since that is what was used with me. In loo of that I am considering using G-diapers www.gdiapers.com However even that Tony is unsure about. So because we have size 1-2 diapers that we got in prep for Emily’s homecoming, I am going to use them then get a trial version of the G-diapers to see if we really like them. Either way, I have a feeling that I will be ordering diapers online, if for no other reason then the conveniance of it. www.diapers.com looks like a good site. Though I will take recomendations if anyone has one.

I was wondering why you went on the special diet and what the goal was, besides gaining weight. I went on my insulin resistant diet because I was diagnosed with insulin resistance from my RE. In order to get diagnosed with this I had to have a 3 hour glucose time test. This is exactly what women have when they are suspected of having gestational diabetes. Only I wasn’t pregnant when I had the test. The goal was to control my insulin levels so I would have “happy eggs”. I guess when your insulin is out of wack, your eggs that are produced are not “happy”. I was also put on Avandia (low dose) to help with this. However I am the type of person that was EXTREAMELY strict on my diet so I bet I could have done it without the Avandia. It is because of this that I will be continuing to see a nutritionist at my RE’s office through my pregnancy and beyond. My next appointment is the last Saturday of this month. I am not on any medication currently other then prescription prenatals and other vitamins recomended by my RE.

That is all for now. I will update if anything new happens!

    Hi Jennifer,

Here is a site that might interest you – I must say it is fabulous! :o) They post several times a day about the BEST baby deals out there online and in stores. From wipes, to food, to diapers, to toys, to carseats, etc. you can find a good deal. So this may help with your diaper quest as they post who has the cheapest diapers and in what brand. I love the site! Hope it helps you, too! :o)

Blessings on your pregnancy! Can’t wait to hear if it’s a boy or girl!

  2. Thanks for answering my questions. I Googled “insulin resistance” and learned a little more about it. Is it also why you have to work to gain weight?

Mothering magazine has an EXCELLENT article on cloth diapers right now. Your husband might be more open to them if he knew more about them. They are so much FUN to sew, I can see you getting addicted to them.
