Thanksgiving…

Here is our Thanksgiving feast!
HPIM1935

This is of our Monkey bread. There is still a bit of this left. I used pecans for nuts.

HPIM1948 HPIM1939

These two are of the cheesecake, which is still around also. It is a chocolate cherry cheesecake.

HPIM1940This is of the turkey. That is just a turkey breast mind you! We now have it in the refrigerator till we take out the garbage (so it is done).

HPIM1942

This is of the twice baked sweet potatoes. There is a few left but they are going fast! I love this recipe. I think I may have to make it again before another holiday! Ha ha!

HPIM1944

This is of Green Bean Casserole finally something I can eat and not feel guilty about! Ha ha!

HPIM1945

This is of the stuffing. Cranberry stuffing that is. All gone!

HPIM1946

This is of Garlic Mashed potatoes. I think it could have also used onion. There is still a bit of this left.

Items not pictured are Gravy (store bought because of the brined turkey) Cranberry sauce (store canned) and Tony had mulled Cider. Yum!

Everything went off without a hitch except for some fuzzy sweet potatoes but Tony whisked off to the store and fixed that! As you can see though I was cooking all day long! Tony said the turkey was the best he has ever had. It was certainly moist! Though it did have a bit of a salty taste. Tonight I am making a variation of the green bean casserole that has chicken in it. It should be tasty as well!

On Friday we brought out Snow Village. I started collecting these pieces long ago (about 1995) and I now have a happy town!

Commercial district (also known as where you go to get good food!

A house on the edge of town!

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. We do not have a tripod so getting pictures can be challenging. I will see if I can get some more later.

Other then that I got a cheap scanner on Friday from online. It should be here sometime this week. This will mean that we will be able to scan our ultrasound picture… the day we get them! No matter what my morning sickness is doing! I thought all of you would be happy about that one! I really think that will help us with sharing our next pregnancy with everyone… whenever that happens.

On Saturday we put up lights on the patio. I have yet to take a picture of that and judging that it looks like pea soup outside right now I don’t think I will be doing that tonight either. When I get pictures I will post them.

I talked to my father today. My sister Saphron (the youngest one) was with him. I can tell that she doesn’t quite understand who I am. Dad told her that he was talking to me on the phone. They refer to all sisters as JJ so dad was doing a word ballet telling Saphron that I am JJ Jennifer. She thought I was JJ Jazmyn. I could tell it was confusing her but she got it in the end. I guess she got a picture of me and pointed at it. However this didn’t mean that she actually wanted to talk to me. Ha ha!

Well that is about all I have for now! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving!

Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,

We had a very similar menu for Thanksgiving. Your pictures make everything look delicious. Would love the recipe for the cheesecake if you will give it!

We had a wonderful time in Mammoth. No snow but beautiful clear skies and a full moon at night. It was amazing. We all had a wonderful time together. I really enjoyed my leisurely cooking time as usually I am too busy with work etc. to do much fun cooking.

I love your village scene. I have a small one that I put in our bay window in the livingroom. I just finished setting it up today and I love looking at it in the dark with just the village lights on. This year I added a pond with skaters thanks to some friends who gave it to me. It’s the perfect centerpiece to my collection.

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is over already and Christmas is nearly here. I have no idea how I will accomplish everything that needs to be done between now and then. I have only one free weekend in December to decorate the tree etc. I am flying to Iowa on Dec. 7 to get my mother-in-law who is almost 93 and will not travel alone anymore. We want her to be with us for Christmas so I am happy to go get her. The only problem is that I lose a weekend to get ready for Christmas. The weekend of the 14th thru 16 is “cookie” weekend at my house so I lose another weekend. Myself and two friends have been doing “cookie weekend” for several years now. You would not believe how many cookies and tea rings we make. I think we do about 150 plates of cookies for friends. It is quite an undertaking but lots of fun. We start on Friday afternoon and finish on Sunday night. We now ask friends to some by on Sunday evening for a glass of champagne and to help to wrap the cookie plates. Those who come also get one of the delicious Swedish tea rings that we make. By the time Sunday night comes, we are exhausted but proud of what we have done! If you want to send my your address at [email protected], I will send you a box of our cookies!

Hope your next blood test goes well! Take care and thanks for the fun pictures! Rowena
